The program only tests rhythmic accuracy, since it was written to test my percussion students playing on a midi drum pad. Any midi device could be used to play on. Before you can run this you need to have Notes fonts installed, which should accompany this program distribution. Consult your computer manual if you are not sure how to install this. Using There is a one bar count in before you should start to play. Listen for the high pitched tone as the first beat of the bar. If there are any tones before the first high pitched one then ignore these. The count in begins on the first high pitched tone. (N.B. you can't select midi beat even though the menu gives this option.The click has to be through the computer's speaker) When you have played the last note a number will appear on the screen to tell you how accurate your playing has been. This is the total number of 24ths of a crotchet beat that you were inaccurate to. Between and 30 is excellent. 30 to 60 is good. 60 to 100 is fair. Above 100 needs serious practice. You are also told whether your playing is generally ahead of or behind the beat.
