Libraries of Vector, Matrix, and Complex Math Functions for PC Compilers
When Speed is Important
Most programs that process numerical data consist of loops. But loop overhead is unnecessarily slow. Replacing these loops by hand-optimized, Assembler-written vector functions and matrix routines speeds up program execution by up to a factor of 2-3 and also greatly enhances numerical accuracy.
OptiVec ™ Brings the Power of Vectorized Programming to the PC!
OptiVec ™ is a complete, hand-optimized set of libraries with over 3500 vector and matrix functions, and complex-number math routines. OptiVec contains the fully vectorized forms of all operators and math functions of C/C++/Pascal/Delphi for all integer and floating-point (including complex) data types, plus many other real and complex math functions and routines for statistics, analysis, FFT techniques, curve fitting, interpolations, vector and matrix algebra, matrix decomposition, and graphics.

Introduction
Dos and don'ts - (Mostly don'ts)
  • Do not reply to the posting of this list in the newsgroup, quoting the entire text. I get an average of one mail like this per month, which I have to pay to download.
  • Do not send me mail asking for help with your programming - unless you are willing to pay my normal daily rate for consultancy. Free advice is available from Usenet newsgroups like comp.lang.c++.
  • Do not send me mail asking if there is a library to do a particular task. All the libraries I know about are in this list.
  • I do not actually have copies of the libraries in the list. I do not evaluate the libraries in the list, I just collect together information sent in by the authors or others. So it's no use asking me how good a particular library is, or, indeed, anything about them that isn't already in the list.
  • If you want me to include your library in the list, send in a submission. Do not just send in a URL, and expect me to pay to connect to the Internet, download your Web page(s) and summarise them. That's your job.

ROOTS-L Resources: Family History Centers and Library
It's certainly possible to do genealogy without ever setting foot inside a Family History Center (FHC). But if you live close enough to visit one, you really should. The resources may not initially impress you, but you have access through each FHC to most of the resources available at the Family History Library (FHL) in Salt Lake City, and those resources are awesome indeed. ROOTS-L has several files about FHCs and the FHL, explaining what they are, where they can be found, how they can best be utilized, etc. From the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a listing of worldwide Family History Centers.
