Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is over 5,000 years old. More people have been treated by TCM than any other type of medicine. According to TCM a collection of symptoms indicates that the bodies internal energy (Qi) is unbalanced. By eliminating these symptoms the body's energy is brought into balance and it heals itself. By eliminating symptoms every disease can be treated, even if its cause is unknown according to western medicine or if the disease can not be treated except by radical means. For more details read the information below or contact the Institute. Besides the clinic, the Institute has a TCM school that is not accredited.

Dharma Haven

Overview overview directory web resources books Tibetan medicine is celebrated as a source of sustainable and affordable healing preparations that are effective without lasting negative side effects. Our goal is to give people all over the world access to this unique insight into human well being. Along with the need to provide training for a new generation of physicians and herbal pharmacists, and to translate the Tibetan medical so that students can begin their training without first having to learn to read Classical Tibetan, the main obstacle to wider use of Tibetan medicine is the limited supply of many herbs used in compounding the medications, some of which are already endangered by excessive non-professional harvesting. His Holiness The Dalai Lama has warned that the health of the billions of people in the world cannot be sustained by medicines made with rare and endangered Himalayan plants. Even now, when Tibetan medicine has hardly begun to be practiced in Western countries, the herbs needed for making many of the medicines are in short supply. For example, the Men-Tse-Khang pharmacy in Dharamsala, India the most respected source of Tibetan medicines turns away all requests for medications except those accompanied by a prescription written by one of their own doctors. They will not accommodate even orders from their own graduates, those who have emigrated from India to other countries, explaining that to do so would deplete the supply of medicines needed in their branch clinics in India and Nepal.

Each of the many hundreds of medicinal plant fractions used in traditional Chinese medicine has an associated traditional processing procedure. According to the summary in Bensky and Gamble (1993), an English translation of the Chinese Materia Medica Traditional practitioners in Chinese medicine are trained to give dietary advice, including recommendations of seasonal foods and foods with energetic properties to restore metabolic balance to the patient. Herbs are prescribed only in formulas that follow traditional practice, although these may be modified slightly to accommodate the individual needs of a patient. Formulas typically contain 8 to 15 different plant materials. Several American herbal product manufacturers, for example, Spring Wind, Nuherbs, and Golden Flower, supply the practitioner market with prepared traditional formulas made with imported herbs.

The ingredients are STANDARDIZED (i.e. their Bio-active substances are extracted under special standards to give each ingredient the highest possible full spectrum of concentration). This ensures not only that they are scientifically manufactured using the latest technology while retaining all the important natural phyto-nutrients, but that what we say is in there, really is in each capsule. In fact, every ingredient is screened by qualified Botanists. Our strictness allows room for so many more herbs than our competition could ever hope to provide. Not only have we combined specific ingredients in specific dosages that work hand in hand together like a team, but we did so without fillers, binders, or any of the other fluff less than honorable companies are selling. Take a look at our ingredients. It truly is remarkable:
