This is a "living list," so if you have acronyms or terms you'd like to see included, please send them to Terry Meisenbach CSREES-related AMS - Agricultural Ma rketing Service: USDA agency providing standardization, grading and market news for specific commodities and overseeing marketing agreements and orders. APHIS - Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service : USDA agency providing leadership in ensuring the health and care of animals and plants. ARS - Agricultural Research Service : the principal in-house research agency of USDA. "Cage " "The Cage" commonly refers to the USDA Secretary's suite of offices and named so because the outer (reception) office is square in shape with glass walls and doors. Not all of these funding programs are currently accepting applications. Programs that are inactive may be offered again in the future. Community Access to Child Health (CATCH) Planning Funds Program Grants for pediatricians to develop innovative, community-based initiatives that increase children's access to medical homes or to specific health services not otherwise available. Community Access to Child Health (CATCH) Resident Funds Program Grants to support pediatric residents in the planning of community-based child health initiatives.
