HALLOWEEN'S
HIDDEN EVILS

By Dan J. Love, Minister, SCY. Halloween or " All Hallow's Eve " is the pagan christian (catholic) celebration that takes place the evening before " AllHallowMas " or " All Saint's Day ". This celebration is steeped in pagan tradition that predates catholicism, but is just another in a series of The "Mystery Religion" blend Syncretism of paganism and false christian catholicism. The very act of absorbing pagan traditions (used to worship false gods and goddesses) into what the deceived suppose is The True Faith (The Ancient Israelites were, also, guilty of this very sin) is an abomination to Yahweh; and not only caused Yahweh to be divorced from Israel, but has caused and is causing the unsuspecting Christian to be divorced from God too. This is The True Evil of Halloween , but there is another evil here that lies in the Concepts and Values that we as a society teach our children, and that they will teach their children.
The Hidden Evil . . . .
How can any True Believer justify the camouflaging of innocent children (as a bandit would wear a disguise) , and the implanting (into innocent minds) of the Concept of Extortion through Intimidation or Coercion . Do you Not remember how easy that concept was taught to you by saying over and over again, and again

Harmless fun? Or funless harm? A spirited debate has broken out in the Los Altos Elementary School District over the holiday known as Halloween. The board has temporarily banned school-time Halloween celebrations at the request of a group of parents who believe the holiday glorifies Satan and the occult. ''I don't want to be a party pooper, but I want to warn people about the dangers of opening the door to occultism and satanism,'' said parent Jan Franklin, whose two children recently graduated from Mountain View High School. Franklin and other parents complain that in-school celebrations imply that schools endorse a holiday that violates some children's religious beliefs and places kids in uncomfortable situations when they don't participate. But another group of equally vocal parents is fighting back to save a holiday they say is about pumpkins and candy, not devil worship.

    Halloween History Lesson
Ghosts, witches, jack-o-lanterns, black cats, and skeletons are all symbols of the holiday known as Halloween. Celebrated in the United States on October 31, it has become a festival where children dress in costumes and visit neighbors to ask for treats. The origin of Halloween can be traced back to the ancient Celts who inhabited parts of France and Ireland more than 2,000 years ago. At the end of the summer these people honored Samhain, who was the lord of the dead. On this day, the high priests of the Celts, or Druids, ordered the people to put out their hearth fires. The Druids then built a huge new bonfire that was considered sacred. Into this new fire they threw crops, animals, and even human sacrifices. Then each family relit its hearth fire from the new year's fire. It was believed that Samhain allowed the souls of the dead to return to roam the earth on this night. There remain several interesting customs associated with Halloween:
    • Carved-out pumpkins and potatoes with candles inserted were used as lanterns by the Irish. There is a legend that jack-o-lanterns were named for a man named Jack, who was such a miser that he was not allowed into heaven. He had also played tricks on the devil and was not allowed into hell. Jack has to walk the earth with his lantern until Judgement Day.

INTRODUCTION Note: This lengthy introduction will be followed by two short emails with tips on how to evangelize during Halloween. Following those emails is are articles on the history of halloween and a good halloween poem. Leviticus 19:31 REGARD NOT them that have familiar spirits, NEITHER SEEK AFTER wizards, to be DEFILED by them: I am the LORD your God. 20:6 And THE SOUL THAT TURNETH AFTER such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul , and will cut him off from among his people. 2 Chronicles 33:6 And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and DEALT WITH a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, TO PROVOKE HIM TO ANGER Are you angry that these scriptures are before thee? Will you "celebrate" Satan's holiday anyway? If so, your rebellion fits right in with Halloween. 1 Samuel 15:23 For REBELLION is as the sin of WITCHCRAFT, and STUBBORNNESS is as INIQUITY AND IDOLATRY.

Rusty Wright Articles Probe Navigation Home History Special Days-Quizzes A Probe Mom Looks at Halloween A Probe Mom Looks at Halloween PDF E-mail Written by Sue Bohlin A number of articles are available advising Christians to have nothing to do with Halloween. And I do agree that Christians have no business celebrating a holiday that glorifies something that delights the enemy of our souls. And potentially opens us up to demonic harrassment, to boot! But if we've got kids, especially kids in public school or who hang around other kids in the neighborhood, it's entirely possible that parents can feel pressured to do something about Halloween. After all, it's pretty hard to hide under a rock for the whole month of October. A number of houses on our street are more decorated for Halloween than for Christmas! It seems that the costume manufacturers have really cranked up production of all sorts of costumes to a degree we've never seen before. Gone are the days of burning a cork to blacken a face, put on some thrift-shop oversized clothes and dressing up as a hobo. (There's probably some politically-correct term for "hobo" these days anyway. . .) Is there anything intrinsically wrong with dressing up in a costume and getting a bunch of candy from consenting adults? I don't think so; hey, the Bible tells us that God instructed the children of Israel to ask their neighbors for silver and gold their last night in Egypt in a VERY early version of "Trick or Treat" (Exodus 11:2). But we can cooperate with the forces of darkness, however unwittingly, by participating unwisely in Halloween festivities.
