Update Oct. 10/2003
I have noticed through this site'sweblog that a fair amount of people are logging in to this page. I apologise for not keeping it up to date, but if enough people email me to do so, I will endeavor to resurrect it. Luckily, I think that most of these places will still be around at the phone numbers listed below. Please email at nick@montrealfood.com if you want updates on cooking classes.Nick L ots of readers of this page have written to find out where they can take classes in Montreal to learn how to cook sushi (yes, someone asked about that), Italian food, Desserts, you name it.
There is no "cooking class bulletin" that gets published in Montreal, but the next best thing is the Gazette, which runs a segment every year or so on classes. The following is borrowed from that installment, published for the fall of 2001.
If you're reading this after that period, bear in mind that while the classes listed may not be available, the numbers and email addresses should still work. Give them a call and find out what their current schedule is.
I'll try to keep up with this page, and you're welcome to

Rexanne's Halloween Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! It's Halloween again and in this house, we're all getting stoopid over costumes , carnivals and free candy . Something about working for those morsels makes the treat that much better, huh? Watching little legs whip though the neighborhood, dragging brooms, hats and huge plastic pumpkins for collecting candy melts my heart. I love kids ... and I love the magic of Halloween!
Hey, remember they work hard for those treats! None of this mini-sized, hard candy stuff! They want chocolate ! And what's with the raisins ? To quote my younger daughter, Liberty, when she was not-quite-5:
