JT: If the teacher was demanding perfect formal written English then I see two mistakes; one, is not capitalized and two, the question mark is outside the final quotation mark and if memeory serves me, there are slightly different ways the second aspect is handled in different dialects.
Other than that, I can't see anything wrong.

Introduction
These notes are a miscellany of grammatical rules and explanations, comments on style , and suggestions on usage I put together for my classes. Nothing here is carved in stone, and many comments are matters of personal preference . Anyone who can resist turning my own preferences into dogma is welcome to use this HTML edition. Feedback is always welcome. I should be clear up front: I'm not a linguist, nor a scholar of the history of the language. (If you're curious about who I am, you can look at my CV and decide whether I'm worth listening to.) Linguists are wary of " prescriptive
Why, then, have I spent so much time on a prescriptive and fairly traditional usage guide? Because these notes may be useful in making your writing clearer and more effective . I'm not out to make definitive statements about what's right and what's wrong , and Lord knows I wouldn't be qualified even if I tried. I can, however, make suggestions on things that are likely to

Some Help With Basic English Usage "Vigorous writing is concise. A sentence should contain no unnecessary words, a paragraph no unnecessary sentences for the same reason that a drawing should have no unnecessary lines and a machine no unnecessary parts. This requires not that the writer make all his sentences short, or that he avoid all detail and treat his subjects only in outline, but that every word tell."

          Study the Rubric
SAT readers have a set of rules they must follow when assigning a grade to your essay. This is called a “rubric” and you can tailor your writing to its standards. Remember essays are graded on a scale of zero to six. If you write on the topic at all, no matter how poorly, your essay will receive at least a one. And since the essays are all graded against each other instead of the perfect ideal, some will receive a six. Here is a summary of the rubric that will be used to grade your essay:
          • Score of 6
General Impression - outstanding Mastery – clear and consistent Errors – few, if any Point of View – effectively and insightfully developed Critical Thinking - outstanding Evidence and Support – clearly appropriate Organization – effective, focused Coherence – smooth progression of ideas Use of Language – skillful, varied, accurate, apt
