11. Shark Blog: Why Do So Many Jews Still Cling To The Democrats?
When in american history has that ever happened? 1) Jewish people view theDems as the good guys out for the regular guy and the Repubs as the bad

Shark Blog
Current Events, Smarter Investing and Fatherhood Main June 02, 2004 Why do so many Jews still cling to the Democrats? Ha'aretz reports that American Jews are " still sworn Democrats ", summarizing the conclusions of a recent and as yet unpublic Gallup poll I have a hard time understanding why so many of my fellow Jewish Americans still cling to the Democrats. We Jews are a people of industry and upward mobility and social justice. The Republicans are a party of equal opportunity, enterprise, self-reliance and security. The Democrats, who once successfully carried the mantle of social justice at least, have decomposed into the party of losers and parasites; the party of the infinite unearned entitlement; the party of surrender and appeasement; the party of race-based hand-outs; the party of sinecured unaccountable government employees. The Republicans are the pro-Israel party . The Democrats are the party of Rachel Corrie, Baghdad Jim and other jihadi fifth columnists . I only wish more Jews would come to their senses and realize that the Democratic Party is no longer the party that best represents our interests and values. The Ha'aretz article offers some hope: many figures in the Jewish community feel that the younger generation of American Jews are not the same committed liberals their parents were. The young Jews are more mature, believe more in the Republican economic approach and are cut off from the big protest movements of the 20th century. In that case, it will be much easier for them to digest Bush's attitude and adopt it as their own, thanks to his foreign policy positions and despite his approach to domestic policies.

    THE GUARDIAN REPORTS...
that I'm right about Karl Rove. Several of the journalists are saying privately, yes it was Karl Rove who I talked to. Now, the thing is that the journalists are not going to name Karl Rove publicly because you don't name your sources, and to do so would discredit them as journalists. So the White House is safe for the time being, but Karl Rove's name is very much out there. And the "we're too professional to have done anything this stupid" defense doesn't sound very convincing from the gang who has screwed up more things than they've gotten right and hasn't done a damn thing right in several months, eh? That Rove is our guy is the only thing that makes sense. I mean, honestly, they really wouldn't be doing all of this for Scooter Libby.

Of Good Guys and Bad Guys, Generals and Gangsters GameDev.net Of Good Guys and Bad Guys, Generals and Gangsters
by Ernest W. Adams Quite a few years ago now, Electronic Arts published a game called Patton versus Rommel , about a hypothetical matchup between two of World War II’s greatest generals. In reality, Patton and Rommel never faced one another – Rommel was invalided home to Germany with injuries before Patton arrived in Normandy. In the tradition of most wargames, you could play either side – take Patton’s army and try to fight your way into Normandy, or take Rommel’s and push the Allies back into the sea. If you took Rommel’s side, you were obviously playing in support of the Nazi regime. The game didn’t address the moral question that this raises; it was a straightforward wargame about troops and tanks, battle and maneuver. Wargames tend to avoid social or political issues to concentrate on purely military ones. Each side is fighting to achieve its objectives without any reference to their motivations or the rights of the situation. Risk is a nice case in point – every player is trying to take over the world, but none of them has an agenda or a political ideology. It’s a simple, symbolic wargame.

Is Hollywood to blame?
Greetings Moorewatchers. especially the pre-9/11 sentiment that produced 19 highjackers willing to fly planes into our buildings while others danced in the streets upon hearing of the tragedy? On that note, it would appear that Osama Bin Laden himself has a particular vendetta against Hollywood. As reported on the Drudge Report today, the DEA is releasing information about a plot by Osama in 2002 to purchase cocaine from South America, lace it with poison, and have it distributed into America. What a slap in the face to Hollywood! I mean, cocaine is practically the currency of Holywood. How do I know?, you ask.

The aftermath, and the bodyguard of lies, and no one's to blame...
Mary Madigan -while writing at Dean's World- recently quoted a CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll to the effect that " 38 percent said no one is to blame" for the Katrina disaster. Not to break up the mutual-congratulation party, but FEMA has come in for a bit of legitimate criticsm, including Republican reps in Congress. Apparently Mike Brown's performance has underwhelmed more than a few folks who can't be called Bush-haters. Some folks have pointed out his absolute lack of anything resembling experience for his appointed position, while others say that his role is primarily ceremonial. Either way I see no problem with shit-canning him. Even if he didn't screw up, it would be a tremendous confidence-builder for the nation. For those who consider this somewhat harsh, I recommend dropping by Castle Arrgggh! and seeing what John has to say about all this, such as this And obviously, it doesn't look good for the people in charge.

Tell me, again, why I'm voting for these guys?
You know, every once in a while I just have to cringe when I hear someone like House Speaker Denny Hastert make the clumsy effort to imply that George Soro's money comes from drug cartels
HASTERT: ...You know, I don't know where George Soros gets his money. I don't know where if it comes overseas or from drug groups or where it comes from. And I... WALLACE: Excuse me? HASTERT: Well, that's what he's been for a number years George Soros has been for legalizing drugs in this country. So, I mean, he's got a lot of ancillary interests out there. WALLACE: You think he may be getting money from the drug cartel? HASTERT: I'm saying I don't know where groups could be people who support this type of thing. I'm saying we don't know. The fact is we don't know where this money comes from. After all the time I spend bitching about Lord Pork Pork (AKA M. Moore), the bloody House Speaker has to pull a bonehead stunt like this one...

Military Performance in Iraq
by Armando
Fri Aug 5th, 2005 at 21:24:16 PDT
For most of us, our support for the safety, well being and, yes, success, of our troops in Iraq is, if not the highest, among our highest hopes. Most of us believe that we should not have been in Iraq in the first place. We believe that BushCo has made a collosal strategic blunder of a magnitude not seen since Vietnam and that the consequences will be paid by our nation for decades to come. We understand that it is not the fault of our troops that they have been sent to this Debacle. It is Bush's fault, to his everlasting and historic disgrace. He misled us to this war and critically damaged the global alliance against terrorism, causing mayhem, death and chaos. He has made us less safe, less prosperous, and less secure in our future. He is the worst President in the history of the nation. But perhaps knowing that Bush is at fault, we have not considered critically whether our military is performing as it should in this impossible mission. Certainly, BushCo has much of the blame here as well, having given the military inadequate manpower and resources. But still, we must also look critically at our military's performance in Iraq. Two stories from

There were enormous differences in tone in the way news outlets headlined the story:
