This thesis examines the issue of the locational orientation of U.S. Internet enterprises in recent years. The goals are to: (1) identify fast-growing cities and regions of four segments of the Information industry (publishing, motion picture/sound recording, broadcasting/telecommunication, and information/data processing) using empirical data; (2) understand the geographical clustering process of the enterprises; and (3) discuss a set of formative influences of the cluster development based on case examples in Atlanta, Austin, Denver, and Washington, D.C. regions. The study proposes a theory that this Internet cluster is a collective product of: (1) formation of new partnerships to commercialize various intangible cultural products and intellectual technologies; (2) subsequent expansion of the enterprises via intensive strategic alliances for value-adding activities at local and regional bases; and (3) creative paths and industrial evolution of enterprises of a particular locality over time. Two sets of locational findings are: (1) there are several emerging Internet clusters (such as Atlanta, Austin, Denver, Miami, Phoenix, Seattle, and Washington, D.C.) whose enterprise dynamics have spread beyond the commonly mentioned major high-technology regions (i.e., Boston, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco); (2) yet, the enterprise dynamics and operation of headquarters and branch offices take the form of a poly-centered regional cluster which expands beyond the traditional notion of the city and suburb.

G eorgia is one of America’s oldest and most interesting states. With a history as rich and varied as its people and geography, you are never far from discovering something exciting and new. The area was originally occupied by the native Creek and Cherokee Indians who had lived in the region for centuries. However, this changed in 1733, when Oglethorpe and other European settlers landed on what is now present-day Savannah. Soon thereafter, they colonized the area, looking to take advantage of the mild climate as well as the many abundant local resources.

The French Republic has land borders with Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Monaco and Spain. Its coastal borders are with the Meditteranean Sea, the Atlantic and the English Channel. Corsica is a French island in the Mediterranean. Paris is the capital city. Much of France's terrain is flat; there are some gently rolling hills and mountainous regions include the Pyrenees in the south and the Alps in the east. The Loire is France's longest river. Other major rivers are the Dordogne, the Garonne, the Rhine, the Rhone, and the Seine. France's climate is varied. Its winters are quite cool with mild summers. Winter and summer are much warmer along the Mediterranean. Environment
France has a varied landscape with forests and woodland areas covering twenty-seven per cent of the country. A Federation of Parks oversee France's nature reserves which are home to many endangered plants and birds. Animals include small creatures such as foxes and deer; the chamois lives in alpine areas and some wild boar can still be found in the more remote forested areas. Like all developed countries the French environment suffers from air and water pollution.

For example, a lesson plan dealing with archaeology is automatically dealing with an anthropological subject. A lesson plan dealing with indigenous people is also automatically dealing with anthropology and any of them may, or may not, be dealing with history or ancient civilizations. While every attempt will be made to keep the topic lines as 'clean' as possible, be aware this may not always be possible. Appropriate grade or age levels are included with the lesson plans. New Flag of Georgia Background:
Georgia was absorbed into the Russian Empire in the 19th century. Independent for three years (1918-1921) following the Russian revolution, it was forcibly incorporated into the USSR until the Soviet Union dissolved in 1991. Russian troops remain garrisoned at four military bases and as peacekeepers in the separatist regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia (but are scheduled to withdraw from two of the bases by July 2001).
Ethnic separation in Abkhazia and South Ossetia, poor governance, and Russian military bases deny the government effective control over the entirety of the state's internationally recognized territory.
Despite a badly degraded transportation network - brought on by ethnic conflict, criminal activities, and fuel shortages - the country continues to move toward a market economy and greater integration with Western institutions.
