Wyoming Lesson Plans Please note that with regard to lesson plans dealing with anthropology, archaeology, indigenous people, ancient civilizations, history, etc, there may be some cross-over and blurring of lines between the topics. For example, a lesson plan dealing with archaeology is automatically dealing with an anthropological subject. A lesson plan dealing with indigenous people is also automatically dealing with anthropology and any of them may, or may not, be dealing with history or ancient civilizations. While every attempt will be made to keep the topic lines as 'clean' as possible, be aware this may not always be possible. Appropriate grade or age levels are included with the lesson plans. The number of lesson plans available online for this topic is enormous. This site can not and does not index all lesson resources. That would be impossible, as sites appear and disappear with astonishing rapidity. The following provides some idea of what is available and will hopefully be a good starting point. • Introduction SR 544/Act 105 creates a study committee to examine municipal and county franchising authority and the impact of fees assessed for use of the public rights-of-way on the development of competition. In an effort to better understand franchise fees and the impact such fees have on local entities in Georgia, this joint study committee commissioned the School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University to help research and define these impacts. Once the committee received this background information, meetings began to discuss the various issues that were involved. The committee held five meetings in Atlanta in order to give all participants a chance to discuss their concerns regarding franchise fees. In a report issued to the committee, Bruce Seaman of the School of Policy Studies explained the importance of studying these tax implications:

Issues at a Glance 2005 Legislative Session
The briefs below review two significant changes made to Georgia law during the 2005 Legislative Session. GMA's legislative challenges don't stop when the Legislative Session ends each Spring. Below are a few of the key state and federal issues GMA staff and city officials are working on for the remainder of 2005. Issues
    Inverse Condemnation

    Community Development Block Grant Program
Telecommunications Act Rewrite/Franchise Fees State Transportation Issues ... Sales Tax on Internet Purchases Inverse Condemnation Inverse Condemnation is the inadvertent physical taking of an individual's real property by a government agency. Property owners are entitled to just and adequate compensation from the government agency for this type of taking. Some would like to change Georgia's laws by expanding the definition of inverse condemnation to require local governments to pay compensation to property owners for the imposition of reasonable local land-use and zoning regulations. The imposition of local regulations is about striking a balance between quality-of-life, community concerns, economic vitality and property values. Without reasonable land-use regulations, all are at risk.

Why You Should Study in Georgia
    What To Study?
The University System of Georgia offers a wide range of academic programs, providing excellent undergraduate general education and first-rate rate academic programs leading to associate, baccalaureate, masters, professional, and doctorate degrees. Programs of study are available in virtually any field, including specializations in engineering, agriculture, technology, business administration, law, medicine and the health sciences. A complete listing of all degrees and majors offered can be found at the University System of Georgia website. Why Study in Georgia?
Georgia ranks fifth nationally in the number of public-supported higher education institutions and ninth nationally in the number of all higher education institutions. In addition to the University System, Georgia also supports a public system of technical colleges and institutes. In all, there are forty-six private institutions in Georgia, including Emory University. Educationally, Atlanta is a nucleus of collegiate activity, including public and private institutions. Three University System institutions in metro Atlanta are especially noteworthy regarding minority issues. Georgia State University, from which more African-American undergraduate students graduate than at any other non-historically black institution in the U.S., is a truly urban university and vital part of downtown Atlanta. Southern Polytechnic Institute is ranked sixth in the nation for graduating African-American engineering technology majors. The Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), as noted, ranked as the ninth best public university in the country, graduates more African-American engineers than any non-historically black institution in the country.
