Geometric dissections on the web
A geometric dissection is a cutting of one or more figures into pieces that can be rearranged to form other figures. Dissections are often cast as puzzles, in which the object is to use as few pieces as possible. These geometrical puzzles fall under the category of mathematical recreations. Some dissections are relatively simple; others are deceptively simple, employing elegant approaches. A number of dissections can be found on the web:

Graphs are mathematical objects that are made of dots connected by lines. Graph Theory is the branch of mathematics that involves the study of graphs. Graphs are very powerful tools for creating mathematical models of a wide variety of situations. Graph theory has been instrumental for analyzing and solving problems in areas as diverse as computer network design, urban planning, and molecular biology. Graph theory has been used to find the best way to route and schedule airplanes and invent a secret code that no one can crack. I have found geometric puzzles to be an excellent springboard for mathematics lessons, as they are interesting to both students and teachers. They lend themselves to teaching some specific concepts as well as to building students' spatial sense and problem-solving skills. Moreover they show to a wide range of learners that exploring mathematics can be rewarding, irrespective of any "practical" application. As a result, geometric puzzles have consistently found their way into my classes, my workshops, and my books. In fact they were how I first broke into print. There are many geometric puzzles that can be used in the classroom, such as for example tangrams and rep-tiles as presented in my book
