"Knowledge is of two kinds... We know a subject ourselves, or we know where we can find information upon it."
Samuel Johnson 1775 I have long been a believer of the above statement. The list of books that follow are ones that (in my mind) belong on the book shelf of an environmental professional. Some will be of interest to scientist in other fields such as geology, hydrology, microbiology, and chemistry. Most of these books are not necessarily meant to be read from cover to cover, but rather used selectively to solve specific problems encountered by the physical scientist. Some are pure reference books that act a sources of supporting data and information. These books can be ordered directly from this web site, through an association with Amazon.com. Scifi-Meshes.com General Discussions General Discussion PDA View Full Version : Is 3D/scifi for geeks? Aceman 03-29-2005, 12:15 PM I was having an IM chat with a friend of mine who is in the know about the graphics/3d industry and he posed a thought that to me.. I found rather interesting. We were discussing 3D Graphics and kind of what the powers that be in the 3D industry think about people who do 3D graphics that are Scifi-related.
His comment to me was, "They [the 3D Pros] are under the impression that scifi isn't really "professional". People say it's too Kid oriented. Crackpots with cracked warez and such."
I guess my question to you is do you think this comment/opinion has merit? What's your impression? Are we crackpots
Should I change the site to Crackpot-meshes.com? with the slogan, "We don't sell crack.. we use it to render our less then professional artwork?"
Thoughts?

Media: Audio CD Customer Reviews: I'll tell you where the love is Bad, Bad, Bad! Bad music mixed with bad lyrics, mixed with not-that-impressive dancing is the equation for Black Eyed Peas. Just bad altogether. Oh, and I really can't stand that Best Buy commercial, or whatever it is. Too eclectic for me. only found 1 song I liked on the entire CD thanks to Whitney and it sounded better coming from her. Elephunk Everyone knows "Where is the Love","Hey Mama", and "Let's Get it Started"; maybe too many people do, for they have been way-overplayed on the radio. Having 3 great top - 40 songs is a great accomplishment, but the rest of the album is just average. 1. Hands Up - A pretty good song. Horns in it add to the exotic sound. 8/10 2. Labor Day ( It's a Holiday) - A song about Labor Day Well, its actually a good song. Good song to dance to. 9/10 3. Let's Get Retarded - The original version of "Let's Get it Started". An unnecessary song on this album. 7/10

Charged, exhilarating, a treat and a surprise. 8 December 2002
Author: sw-12 from Venice, CA
I thoroughly enjoyed the current Broadway stage revival of Chicago the Kander and Ebb original, with Bob Fosse choreography, opened in 1975, starring Gwen Verdon (Roxie), Chita Rivera (Velma) and Jerry Orbach (Billy), all proven musical theatre talents. I saw the revival fairly early in its current run, starring Ann Reinking (Roxie), Bebe Neuwirth (Velma) and James Naughton (Billy), who are all proven in musical theatre as well.
The casting of this new film adaptation had me wondering Renee Zellwegger (Roxie), Catherine Zeta Jones (Velma) and Richard Gere (Billy)? Sure, they can act, but can they sing and dance?

Pages: 1 Great graphics and decent gameplay by RikkuLover from , MI, Apr 11, 2005 THE GOOD:
    Decent gameplay
    Great graphics
    Good character roster
    Hitomi
    Kasumi
    A cool boss THE BAD:
You need a booster disc or the DOA Ultimate disc to unlock all costumes. Gen Fu SUMMARY: Difficulty: Medium Wow the graphics in this game are so good it looks like it was just made in 2004 or 2005. This game, DOA Ultimate and DOA Beach Volleyball has some of the best graphics in any video games. The graphics are so good that even if the gameplay sucked I would still rate it a 3/5 for the graphics alone. But the gameplay in this game certainly doesn't suck. The difficulty in this game is good too because when it's on easy it's means easy and when it's on hard it means hard. If you thought Dead or Alive 2 is good then you have to check out this game. The graphics will literly stun you. You won't be dissapointed by the gameplay either. Play it whenever you can.

    Description
Few styles of popular music have generated as much controversy as progressive rock, a musical genre best remembered today for its gargantuan stage shows, its fascination with epic subject matter drawn from science fiction, mythology, and fantasy literature, and above all for its attempts to combine classical music's sense of space and monumental scope with rock's raw power and energy. Its dazzling virtuosity and spectacular live concerts made it hugely popular with fans during the 1970s, who saw bands such as King Crimson, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, and Jethro Tull bring a new level of depth and sophistication to rock. On the other hand, critics branded the elaborate concerts of these bands as self- indulgent and materialistic. They viewed progressive rock's classical/rock fusion attempts as elitist, a betrayal of rock's populist origins. In Rocking the Classics
