Why I made my web site
"Communication leads to community, that is,
to understanding, intimacy and mutual valuing"
Rollo May "Words are, of course, the most powerful drug
used by mankind." Rudyard Kipling: I started of designing and writing my Web Page initially, because I wanted to learn HTML so it was sort of a fun practice ground where I could try out different coding techniques. As I added more content it evolved into a kind of self-statement, and I started to care about it. I felt it was a way of letting the world know who I am - call it an ego trip if you like. Another reason I made this web page was really to see if I could do it. So the first 1-2 years I fooled around a bit, with different designs and layouts. But down the line I realized that I was missing something essential. I wanted to make a real personal Web site, so it had to contain personal content. Some of you may be thinking "Well, that's obvious?" but others of you are wondering "What is personal content, what does that mean?" By personal content I mean that the page must exhibit content that tells your readers about your thoughts, ideas, interests, hobbies, family, friends, feelings, or something you feel strongly about. I think that just about covers it.

News Special Occasions Royal Families Royal Addresses ... Contact History of the Greek Royal Family By Lisa May Davidson As King Constantine II once remarked, "Exile is a Greek habit." His Majesty's point is well taken. The modern day Kings of Greece have gone into exile numerous times, only to return to power years later. The frequency of exile is but one of many interesting facets of this royal house. Another distinction is the high degree to which this family rose to power from obscurity in a single generation, and their continuing presence on the world's stage by their close relationship to nearly all the major reigning European houses. Perhaps most remarkable of all is the House of Oldenberg's devotion to Greece, because, with a single exception, no Greek royal has a drop of Greek blood!
    The Family Comes To Power
From the time of his marriage in 1842, Christian of Holstein-Sonderburg-Glucksburg (1818-1906) had to struggle to support his family. A soldier by profession, Christian's family with Louise of Hesse-Cassel (1817-1898) lived simply for many years in a house in Copenhagen. Later, two of his daughters, who became royal consorts, would recall the incredible frugality by which the family lived. Having mentioned the lack of Greek ethnicity of their royal house, it is only fair to say that, while named heir to the Danish throne, Christian and his wife were primarily of German ethnic descent.

    Some elements of the Arms:
    • The lion of the tribe of Judah, in the pre-eminent righthand position, wearing the Crown.
    • The Unicorn(Bull) of Ephraim, of equal stature with the Lion.
    • The harp of David, recognizes the Davidic Covenant and symbolizes the marriage of the two lines of Judah in Ireland, through Jeremiah.
    AN AMAZING CONNECTION
The ties between Jesus and England are many. The traditions surrounding Glastonbury make it certain that Jesus spent much time there. God has been "grooming" England all through history. From the arrival of Brutus in 1103 BC, Jeremiah in Ireland in 583 BC, the Druid (Hebrew) Priests, the Megalith Builders of prehistory, and the endless waves of Celts and Scythians that migrated to that area, I think we can conclude that England has a part in God's plan.
In another place, I'll be offering evidence of the family ties of the British Royalty to the Roman Royalty. The story reads like a Payton Place of History. Inter-marriages and intrigue. Love and War. Good and Evil. It's all there. Why, the Roman Emperor who ended centuries of Christian persecution, and declared Christianity the religion of the state, Constantine the Great, was born and raised, in England. And was half English, on his mother's side.

    My favourite royal in history:
    Eleanor of Aquitaine (~1122-1204)
Duchess Eleanor of Aquitaine was an intelligent and emancipated woman living in the dark middle ages. Although it is a conventional rule that all ladies of high rank should be described as beautiful, all sources agree that Eleanor of Aquitaine really was beautiful. In addition, she was the richest heiress of France and became successively Queen of France and England.
her daughter Aenor married to his eldest son William X (1099-1137) in 1121. They had two daughters, Eleanor and Petronilla, and a son, William Aigret. Eleanor resembled both William IX and Dangereuse; she possessed the same intelligence, gaiety, restlessness and will power. The court of William IX was the centre of western European culture: the ducal family was entertained by jongleurs, storytellers and troubadours. Unlike most of her contemporaries, male and especially female, Eleanor was carefully educated and she was an excellent student. Eleanor's happy childhood ended with the subsequent deaths of her mother, her little brother and - in 1137 - her father.
The orphaned Eleanor was the richest heiress in France thus a marriage was arranged for her to its King, Louis VII (1121-1180). Louis had been brought up for an office in the church, but he had become heir to the French throne after the death of his elder brother. He was a weak, dull, grave and pious man and he and the lively Eleanor were ill matched. Louis never understood his young wife, but he appears to have adored her with a passionate admiration. It wasn't until 1145 that a daughter, Marie, was born. Meanwhile, Eleanor was eager to govern her own duchy, since she knew the troublesome Aquitainians better than anyone. However, Louis' councillor, the Abbot Sugar, resented female influence in governmental matters.

The mathematical study of genealogy indicates that everyone in the world is descended from Nefertiti and Confucius, and everyone of European ancestry is descended from Muhammad and Charlemagne by Steve Olson few years ago the Genealogical Office in Dublin moved from a back room of the Heraldic Museum up the street to the National Library. The old office wasn't big enough for all the people stopping by to track down their Irish ancestors, and even the new, much larger office is often crowded. Because of its history of oppression and Catholic fecundity, Ireland has been a remarkably productive exporter of people. The population of the island has never exceeded 10 million, but more than 70 million people worldwide claim Irish ancestry. On warm summer days, as tourists throng nearby Trinity College and Dublin Castle, the line of visitors waiting to consult one of the office's professional genealogists can stretch out the door.
