    Geography
    Location
    Territory
The Republic of Tatarstan covers the territory of 68,000 sq. km which is roughly the size of such countries as Ireland, Lithuania, Sri-Lanka. The Republic stretches for 290 km from North to South and for 460 km from West to East. In the North it borders Kirovsky region (oblast), in the North-East Republic of Udmurtia, in the North-West-Republic of Mari-El, in the West-Chuvashia, in the East-Republic of Bashkortostan, and in the South-Samara Region (oblast), Orenburg region, Ulyanovsk region.
    Relief
Relief of the Republic of Tatarstan is of flat character, 90% of the territory is 200 meters above sea level, with average height of 170 meters. The highest point of the Republic is 381 meters, the lowest point being 35 meters. The stable crystalline foundation of the platform is deep seated and is blocked all over by sedimentary rocks of 2000 meters, that makes Tatarstan seismically safe territory.
    Climate
    Natural resources
The largest rivers of the Republic are the Volga, the Kama and its two navigable tributaries-the Belaya and the Vyatka. The total flow of the four rivers makes 234 billion cu. m per year. Certain part of the territory of the Republic is occupied by reservoirs-the Kuibyshev and the Nizhnekamskoye.

The following chart summarizes an extensive survey and evaluation of the Kurdish peoples and the languages they speak. I have followed the classification of languages and dialects used by the Summer Institute of Linguistics , as published in the Ethnologue , 13th Edition, 1996. (This was the current edition at the time of the research. Editions 14 (2000) and 15 (2005) maintain the same dialect and language designations as Edition 13.) The Ethnologue listings represents a revision of names and dialect groupings among the Kurds, based on later research than other sources used. This appears to be the most recent schema summarizing research on the Kurdish languages. Previous sources were not consistent, so accounting for some variations from this presentation. Observations and Findings with Conclusions follow the chart. This report has been updated several times since the original research, but the chart remains the same. Dr. Orville Boyd Jenkins

A historic University Before the conquest of Granada paved the way for the discovery of a new world, and with it the meeting of American and European cultures, the city had already been Iberian, Roman and later Jewish and Islamic. Capital of the former Nazari Kingdom, Granada was the last city on the Iberian Peninsula to be conquered from the Muslims in 1492, an event which was to mark the formation of Spain. [Back] The cities (Granada, Ceuta and Melilla) To speak of Granada is, therefore, to speak of an exceptional geography, midway between the warm sea and the high mountains: 60 minutes by car from the province of Granada's beaches, 75 minutes from Malaga, and 30 minutes from the Sierra Nevada ski resort (at a height of 3,400 metres). The University of Granada also has University Campuses in the Spanish cities of Ceuta (with more than 70,000 inhabitants) and Melilla (with more than 60,000 inhabitants), located in North Africa, which have a special cultural importance by virtue of the coexistence of the different cultures making up their populations.

Ottawa, Ontario Canada, KlS 5B6 Geography at Carleton The many different careers that Carleton Geography graduates are pursuing lead us to recognize our responsibility to provide an educational experience which provides both breadth and depth. The many and varied opportunities - some quite unexpected to us - that our graduates have found to use their talents also demonstrate that it is not possible to identify any single career path that would constitute the normal experience for geography graduates. Our Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral programs are designed in response to this reality. The Bachelors programs provide sound FOUNDATIONS in various aspects of geography. The B.Sc. (Physical Geography) provides this foundation in the area of the earth surface environments, with study of climate, climatic change, earth materials, geomorphological processes, biogeography and biophysical resources. The Geographic Information Processing B.A. and B.Sc. provide sound foundations in the development and applications of remote sensing and geomatics. The B.A. programs provide the opportunities to pursue interrelated human geography topics and to choose integrated programs of study that address physical geography and the human-natural environment interface.
