69. Seale Family On St. Helena
Features the lineages of St Helena as compiled by Colleen Eldredge from Narcoossee, florida, USA.
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~rpeld/
OAS_AD('Top'); Welcome to the St. Helena Seale Family data base. Expanded and reissued June 2002 Several years ago when I began searching records for the Seale family of the Island of St. Helena I was only interested in my direct line of ancestors. Since I was born and raised on the island of Key West, not nearly as remote as St. Helena, I became intrigued with the history of that island. I began to read the minutes of the Council of the East India Company and before I realized it, I was looking for every recorded person with the Seale name on the Island up to 1834 when the last of my line died there. Subsequently, I have now found Seales that were on the Island much later than that date, after the British Crown took over rule from the East India Company.
St Helena 1502-1938 by Philip Gosse, so Mr Hearl is quite knowledgeable on the Island of St Helena. The microfilm that was used in the research were the St Helena Parish Registers, the Early Records of St Helena, 1681 to 1769 and film from the Family History Library of the Mormon Church, 1769 to 1825. There were three books that also provided information: A St Helena Whos Who

We would be especially interested in contact by anyone who can
trace their ancestors back to: Malcolm McKercher, born January
2,1787; Duncan McKercher, born October 6, 1790; John McKercher, born May 15, 1792; William McKercher, October 29,1794. All were born at Meggernie in Glen Lyon, Scotland to Duncan McKercher and Catherine McLellan. Malcolm married Christian and Duncan married Jean McCallum. The same is true for Duncan McKerchar, born September 30, 1837, to Farquhar McKerchar and Elizabeth McKenzie at Meggernie. He married A. Gourlay, an English lady. All these folks are from the Fortingall Parish in Perthshire.
Those who can trace their ancestors to Graves and Maria Armstrong, once of Dublin, Ireland in the late 1800s with a son
John Farquhar Armstrong and two spinster daughters Ronald and
Bessie. All migrated to British Columbia and are related to us McKerchers and we would be pleased to learn about them. John was an analytical chemist married to Ethel. They had a son Norman and daughter Azila who was a schoolteacher.
We were delighted to hear on October 11, 2004 from Frances Fogarty of London England. Frances is a descendant of Malcomb McKerchar and Christina McArthur. Malcomb was brother to my great-grandfather, Farquhar. Frances' email is now a part of our family's web site. Hopefully some of the names will help spark some additional contacts who can add to our knowledge of our Scottish roots.

I am doing research on the Xynides lineage from Saint Johns County, Florida. I know that Harry E. Xynides came to the United States from Greece as a stowaway sometime between 1930-1940. He is married to Betsy Glisson and resides in Saint Augustine, Florida.
I am also researching the James W. Dean lineage from Quincy, Florida. I know the James W. Dean was born on August 26, 1907 and was married to Frances W. McKenzie.
Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have.

80. Leebrick Family Tree

Liebrich/Leebrick Families in America
Welcome to the web site for our family name in America. On September 25, 1754, Johannes Philip Liebrich and his family set foot on land at the Port of Philadelphia. Having passed their medical examination, they were marched up to City Hall, where they pledged their allegiance to the British crown. They then were dismissed to begin their new life of freedom in the colonies.
Family tradition and some early US documentation described the family as being from Manheim, Germany. This is consistent with the ship "Adventure" documentation, which describes the passengers as being from the duchy of Franconia. But, no one has ever found records in Manheim indicating the presence of the family there.
Our trip to Philadelphia in the fall of 2004 helped to answer that question. Using some recent information from the Internet, we went to Manheim, Pennsylvania and were able to locate the grave stone of Johan Philip Nicholas Liebrich, the only son of our immigrant ancestor. Oblique lighting and photographic enhancement techniques revealed that Nicholas was actually born in Butzbach Germany , not Manheim. Butzbach was located within the duchy of Franconia, and so this location is also consistent with the ship manifest.
