Technology and Information Services/Office of Educational Technology Title Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT) [Part II competitive opportunity] Specific Funding Authority(ies) PL 107-110 Elementary and Secondary Education Act, Title II (Part D) “No Child Left Behind Act of 2001” CFDA#: 84.318 Funding Purposes The primary purpose of the Enhancing Education Through Technology initiative is to improve student academic achievement through the use of technology in elementary and secondary schools. The program is also intended to assist all students in crossing the digital divide by ensuring that every student is technologically literate by the time the student finishes the eighth grade. In support of those key purposes, the program encourages the effective integration of instructional learning tools and systems with training and curriculum development at the classroom level. Projects selected for funding will identify and incorporate research-based instructional methods that can be widely implemented as best practices. (A more detailed description of specific program purposes is provided under the Federal Requirements section of this RFP) Funding Priorities Local Education Agencies that receive an allocation under the entitlement component of the program which is not of sufficient size to be effective. Priority is also given to funding “high-need” Local Education Agencies (i.e. ones that are among those with the highest numbers or percentages of children from families with incomes below the poverty line that also: (1) operate one or more schools identified as low performing (per ESEA Sec. 1116), or, (2) have a substantial need for assistance in acquiring and using technology).

  • Trivia Quiz Mac-tip of the Week - closing windows!
Remember you have the "Option" of closing ALL your open windows at once by holding down the "Option" key while you click the "Close" box of one window. This works great if you have opened windows to FAC_SERVER, then SHS, then FACULTY, then "YOU", then EUDORA... etc.
New "Calendar Templates" in the Staff Dev. Lab
Many of you have used the ClarisWorks assistant to create planning calendars. This works great, but you end up with a separate file for each month. As a benefit of our membership in the ClarisWorks Users Group, we now have some new and nifty calendar templates! One template can be set to print weekly or monthly summaries for an entire year! Stop by the Staff Development Lab and explore or copy these templates from the General Folder. While you are visiting, be sure to check out the February issue of the ClarisWorks Journal for tips on making "Gift-It" packages.
