This program, which leads to a Bachelor of Science with a major in Athletic Training, will prepare the student for an entry-level career in the care, prevention and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses to the physically active.
In addition to the degree requirements listed in the program of study, this program also requires a clinical component. The clinical component provides important hands-on experience in a variety of clinical settings which includes: hospitals, sports medicine clinics, area high schools, professional teams, and collegiate athletic teams such as Jacksonville University and the UNF Athletic Departments. The clinical component is typically fulfilled Monday - Friday from approximately 1 pm - 6 pm and usually includes night and weekend hours, depending on the clinical assignment. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)

ADULT EDUCATION SCALE SCORES Both rules (6A-6.014 and 6A-10.040) allow for the use of scale scores in the place of grade levels. Scales scores can provide more meaningful information about incremental progress than grade level equivalents. MODIFICATION OF TEST INSTRUMENTS Rule 6A-1.0943,FAC, Modifications of the State Student Assessment Test Instruments and Procedures for Exceptional Students and Other Eligible Students with Disabilities, provides for modification of testing procedures for eligible students. Modifications may include, but are not limited to, the following: flexible scheduling, flexible setting, flexible recording of answers, mechanical aids, revised format and flexible timing. This rule applies to students enrolled in Adult General Education Programs and to students enrolled in Postsecondary Vocational Certificate Education Programs.

Satisfactory completion of third year medicine and surgery rotations. Objectives
To provide students with inpatient, outpatient and operative experience in general and minimally invasive surgery. Although the experience is unique to general and minimally invasive surgery, general principles of patient care common to all of medicine will be stressed. Description
Students actively participate in all outpatient and inpatient activities to ensure a broad, balanced, in-depth, comprehensive experience. The students will be supervised by the staff surgeons who have a special interest in advanced laparoscopic procedures as well as breast surgery. Exposure to procedures includes: upper endoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy. Evaluation
Evaluations are performed by the staff surgeons to whom the student is assigned. A report will be given to deans and phase coordinators upon request.
