As happens with industry pioneers and their respective fields, original dance agent Julie McDonald and the business of commercial dance in Los Angeles have grown up together. After 20 years as a representative, first primarily for dancers and since 1998 for choreographers and stage directors exclusively, she speaks of the dance community's struggles and accomplishments in the timbre of personal history. Crossing the Line

"She could be abrasive. She could scare the shit out of people," a former student of the late Uta Hagen told Back Stage West columnist Jean Schiffman. Though famous for her tough-love techniques, Hagen had a reputation for also treating her students as colleagues and never putting them down. Hagen, like many great acting coaches, knew where to draw the line between tough love and abusive criticism. More

King Menkaure (also known as Mycerinus) and his queen (probably Kha-merer-nebty II). The Museum of Fine Arts houses one of the finest Egyptian collections of its kind in the world. A visit to the collection is a great way to learn about Egyptian art and civilization. It's also a chance to learn about history, language, religion, anthropology, and archaeology. There are approximately 40,000 objects in the collection. Ninety-five percent of these came from nearly forty years of scientific excavations in Egypt and the Sudan. This means that most of the objects in the MFA's collection were found where the ancient Egyptians left them, allowing archaeologists to study objects in their original context. Visitors come from around the world to see the MFA's Egyptian collection now you can explore ancient Egypt with the click of a mouse.

How to Apply to UCE Shows

Producers of Fine Art and Craft Festivals Since 1981, United Craft Enterprises (UCE) has produced successful, quality art and craft shows and developed major new marketplaces. Our shows have been well-attended and well-received by the buying public. Exhibitors have been pleased by good show management and strong sales.
As working craftspeople ourselves, we have first-hand knowledge of professional craft marketing as well as a real understanding of, and sensitivity to, exhibitor needs.
Our promotion of each show is extensive, with well-financed, professionally designed and targeted major multi-media advertising campaigns, as well as large direct mailings to customers. This, along with a huge public relations effort, is aimed at bringing in the art and craft buying public in great numbers. Twenty-four hour security is provided at all shows. The public is charged an admission.
UCE shows are open to professional craftspeople and artists in all media. Applicants are juried by slides, and selected on the basis of quality and craftsmanship, with diversity and balance in each category as additional criteria.
