On April 29, 2005, the delegates of the 77th Maryland State FFA Convention elected Lindsay Shirk of Clear Spring; Niki Novak of Queen Anne's; and Katie Albaugh, Kimmie Main, and Brittany Ramsburg of Walkersville to dedicate a year of service to the Maryland FFA Association and its members. This year began immediatly as they traveled to banquets to bring the greetings of the Association and to share their theme, 'Jump In, Dig In, Evolve,' with the members. Their next endeavor was BLAST Off training. Building Leaders And Strong Teams of Officers is the first in a series of workshops that the officers will attend to help prepare them for their year. The National Leadership Conference for State Officers (NLCSO), which is to be held in Morgantown, WV, will focus on the team, their interactions, and chapter visits. This event consists of two components, a written marketing plan and the formal PowerPoint presentation of the ag marketing plan. High schools students throughout Nebraska compete in this event. The winner of the state event then represents Nebraska in the national competition in the Fall. The purpose of this event is to expose high school students to the possibility of careers in ag marketing and have them gain real world experience with a local agribusiness. Willow Lake FFA Willow Lake, SD Winter is coming...and our ffa chapter is in full swing! Welcome to the Willow Lake FFA Chapter homepage!!!!! Willow Lake is a small community in Eastern South Dakota. Our high school has about 65 students in grades 9-12. Of these students, 30 are members of the FFA. Despite our small size, our chapter has received many awards for the Career Development Events that we have participated in (see Awards Page). We have also attended National Competitions for Land and Range Judging and also Agribusiness Management and our most recent one would have to be for the Prlimentary Procedure (Prali-Pro).
