146. Giorgione
Excerpts from the biography of the artist by famous Giorgio Vasari and a collection of images.
http://easyweb.easynet.co.uk/giorgio.vasari/giorgion/giorg.htm
Venetian painter, c.1476/8 - 1510 Vasari's knowledge of Giorgione's career and works was rudimentary; Giorgione painted largely for the Venetian aristocracy, to whose private collections the friend of Florentine and Roman nobles did not have access.
That Vasari recognised his importance as a painter is signalled by Giorgione's presence in the trio of Leonardo, Giorgione and Correggio, who introduce the third age of painting.
I shall adopt the amateur's privilege of idle speculation and include the pictures that might have caught the Tuscan eye. "In his youth he executed in Venice many Madonnas and portraits. these were vigorous and beautiful pictures..."
Adoration of the Magi Adoration of the Shepherds Madonna with the Child, St Anthony of Padua and St Roch Portrait of a young man (Antonio Broccardo) Portrait of an old woman Laura "Giorgione loved to paint frescoes...[so when] the Fondaco dei Tedeschi was completely burnt, the Signoria decreed that it should be rebuilt [and that] Giorgione should colour it in fresco as he wished..." I-275
The frescoes have nearly vanished - Vasari refers to a figure like a Judith, who "might stand for Germania"

The children choose a woman based on a topic they are interested in. This is by no means a complete collection. The Madness Behind the Music
Tchaikovsky committed suicide, Schumann was committed, and Beethoven was notorious for having feces spread all over his walls. How can we explain this? Believe it or not, there is innumerous information containing the "dirt" on all of the composers and other artists. "Madness in great ones must not unwatched go", is one of the most popular lines ever uttered in Shaekespeare's famous play, Hamlet. Derangement among some of the most greatest thinkers certainly has not gone overlooked. This website has not been created to destroy the reputation of these people, but merely to enlighten the audience of a positive correlation existing between creativity and madness. Welcome to FamousCouple.com. A growing list of profiles of famous couples from the arts, sciences, politics, and entertainment.
They say opposites attract? see for yourself as you peruse our index of celebrity matches and look at the hot and not-so-hot couples past and present. Some people just seem cursed to marry and remarry for the rest of heir lives, which sometimes makes you wonder why they get married in the first place.
Some wait a while before, and even that's not always successful, but there are couples who have endured through thick and thin, and for that, they are stronger. Our favorite couples are the ones who are not only together in love, but together in creating or researching things. Pierre and Marie Curie discovered radium together, George Burns and Gracie Allen made Americans laugh for decades with their stage, radio, and television shows.
Even couples who were doomed had moments of brightness, from Ike and Tina Turner and Phil and Ronnie Spector's great musical achievements to Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton's intense and unforgettable movie collaborations.
