WHY A "BRICKER / BRUEGGER / BRUCKER AND VARIANT SURNAMES DNA PROJECT" ?
The families today in North America by the name of BRUEGGER, BRUCKER, BRUECKER, and other variations largely descend from different German-speaking immigrants who began to arrive here in the early 1700s from Switzerland, Germany, Alsace, and Austria. There are also clear indications that the immigrant ancestors of most familes living in the U.S. and Canada today with the last name of BRICKER originally used one of the various Bruegger, Brucker, or Bruecker surnames while in Europe, changing to an anglicized version of the name after having arrived on this side of the Atlantic. As a result, various families with different though similar last names may actually share the same early European roots, with common ancestors coming from the same villages. The purpose of the this DNA Project is to discover, by comparing our genealogical and genetic data:

"We just received the payout from the estate that you helped us with. I want to thank you for all your help. My Mother would have never realized that estate was pending without your notification. The entire settlement would have gone to the other side of the family and we would have been none the wiser. You arranged to have my mother's interest represented by an excellent law office. The past year has been a wonderful experience. Working with you and taking your direction, I found out a great deal about my family that I never know before. With your help I found cousins who I had not seen in close to 20 years. Without your services I would have been blind trying to work my way through the process." Best Regards,
G.R. Peckett

Volunteer genealogists have set up a network of web sites to help answer the sometimes daunting questions about research in different countries. In some cases information is available on a country level, in other cases the support goes down to the level of provinces, counties, oblasts, districts or even villages and parishes. State of the art facilities such as message boards, mailing lists and newsgroups allow for easy posting of queries and fast and efficient exchange of information. We hope you will find the WorldGenWeb sites useful and that you too will share information with other researchers and help them cross the barriers caused by different languages, different alphabets, different cultures and different history.

Monarchies of Europe
Index and Introduction
British Royal Family
My interest in European Royalty started about 18 years or so ago when I became intrigued with the inter-marriages between Queen Victoria's descendants and other European Royal Families.
I started off with one large genealogical table using a simple word processor, gradually moving across to a combination of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
I then tried my hand at my own Web Editing about 5 years ago and found that I could provide hyper-links between various parts of my Web Page. This was the stimulus I needed to start my Monarchies of Europe Web Site. The original genealogical table was too large to produce as one Web Page, so I took the plunge and started to produce separate Web Pages for individual Royal Families
I have produced separate genealogical tables and hence corresponding number of Web Pages for most of the main European Royal Families (46 to date) and update or add to them on a regular basis. Visitors to my site can readily click between the pages for any inter-marriage. The genealogical tables are very comprehensive and I believe they include all the descendants of Queen Victoria.
Wherever possible I have traced the lineage via the male line of the family, one of the notable exceptions being the descendants of Prince Phillip of Greece (Duke of Edinburgh) which are traced via Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain II of Great Britain.
