What Caspary did not highlight in testimonial documents were the additional parallels between her work and Collins' great novels. Archival evidence, including the unpublished screen treatment that preceded the novel, indicates that the principal characterizations of Laura , as well as its sensational plot, benefited beyond structure from Collins' influence...

Environmental health practitioners help ensure that the vulnerable areas of our environment are protected from accidental or intentional contamination. The emergence of many new issues and threats, such as food and water security, exposures to hazardous chemicals, building environments, radiation, vectors, biologic and infectious wastes, and terrorism threats, establishes the need for an educated and well-prepared environmental health workforce.
- It's been a while since the last update, but time is scarce at the moment, so allow me to be brief until further notice: I, along with my little operation, have moved to the Manayunk neighborhood of Philadelphia. I abandoned my dependence on fossil fuel and now rely on bicycle, foot, skateboard and public forms of transportation. As of Monday my six year hiatus from Temple University is over. I feel a bit old in my classes, but fortunately I don't look it. I'll try to "blog" a more detailed description of what's going on sometime soon. I do want to say thanks the Cycle Messenger World Championships for allowing me to make the 40-some banners for the event. I'm grateful for their support, and I will continue to support the bike messenger industry/culture whenever I can! WELCOME Wonka Vision readers! Find that coupon and tell me you want to use it (don't go cuttin' up the pretty page). I'll have more comments when I get to actually read the article! -vince-

The introduction of the euro as the single European currency profoundly impacts the way enterprises operate. The transition to the euro also has a number of practical consequences for the day-to-day operations of enterprises, such as preparing information systems for the use of the euro. To fulfill this need, careful planning is essential. However, recent surveys have shown that few enterprises, except perhaps for large banks and insurance companies, are actually prepared. The impact of the euro is far-ranging, and not limited solely to European companies. Anyone conducting a financial transaction with a European customer or supplier will find it necessary to modify their information systems to support the euro. And many of these companies may be located in regions outside Europe, for in today's global economy, the distinction of geographical location has become increasingly blurred. Examples of systems that are affected by the introduction of the euro include:
Accounting software (general ledger) Electronic payment and trading systems Invoicing and billing systems Payroll systems Accounts receivable and accounts payable subledgers Inventory systems that record the value of the inventory
