GM and the GM Foundation donate 2005 Saturn VUE and $75,000 to Tennessee Conservation Group
2005 Saturn VUE donated to the Nature Conservancy of Tennessee. According to Davis, GM's donation of vehicles has been instrumental in the accomplishment of The Nature Conservancy's mission and goals. "We typically work in remote wilderness locations, requiring vehicles that can take the punishment of rough terrain and go the distance," Davis said. "GM's donated vehicles make an important difference to The Nature Conservancy in achieving conservation success." Duck River GM and The Nature Conservancy have an on-going relationship that is unprecedented in size and scope. In 1994, GM made a 5-year commitment to provide $5 million in cash and vehicles. Since then, GM has donated more than $9 million in cash and now 173 trucks to aid the work of The Nature Conservancy across the U.S. and many other countries of the world. GM also provided $10 million to The Nature Conservancy to restore and protect about 30,000 acres of endangered land in the Atlantic Rainforest Restoration Project in Brazil. GM's eleven-year commitment to The Nature Conservancy now reaches over $23 million.

Environment
Africa, 3.5 million years ago. The plains and forests were full of familiar-looking animals. The details may be different - there were giant warthogs, strange relatives of the giraffes, and chalicotheres browsing the trees, but essentially the world would have been very similar to a time traveller from the modern day. There was one group of animals, however, which would come as a great shock - the australopithecines. These were bipedal apes, and palaeontologists have spent many decades painstakingly searching for their remains in order to understand more about our ancestors.

Description Documentation Mailing lists Download ... Links
Description
GetDP is a general finite element solver using mixed elements to discretize de Rham-type complexes in one, two and three dimensions. The main feature of GetDP is the closeness between the input data defining discrete problems (written by the user in ASCII data files) and the symbolic mathematical expressions of these problems. See GetDP's reference manual for a more thorough overview of GetDP's capabilities

Many countries, including Canada, have actively implemented policies and programs to prevent pollution and promote waste minimization. Yet, environmental pressures are still increasing and the generation of wastes and the management of their disposal continues to be a concern. In the face of these challenges, and in the interests of supporting sustainable development objectives, new policies and programs are being evaluated, developed and implemented both by government and by businesses. Key among these approaches are Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and stewardship What's New About Us Topics Publications ... Sport as an agent for change
The most significant way sport can benefit the environmen and sustainable development is through its popularity. The power for good that sport represents can be harnessed and channeled to help make our world a better place. By virtue of its prominence and influence, sport can become a powerful agent for change, leading society at large. It can lead by example, showing other sectors and the general public the road to and the benefits of sustainability. Sports organizations can act as catalysts to protect and enhance the environment. They can work with government and industry to encourage them to bolster their attempts to improve environmental conditions. Success stories In Sydney, Homebush Bay, which was for decades an environmental liability as a toxic waste dump, was restored as a safe recreational site because it was chosen as the main site for the Olympic Games.
