We Program for Success!
All camp activities are planned with a view to teaching skills, building confidence and improving self-esteem. We achieve this by carefully structuring all of our activities to ensure success. Teaching is done by skilled instructors who break tasks down into manageable chunks and present them in a logical sequence. In this way we can be sure that our campers will be successful. We acknowledge every accomplishment, and never miss the opportunity to provide positive feedback and recognition.
Our athletic instructors de-emphasize competition, stress co-operation and sportsmanship and model appropriate attitudes and behavior.

and other greenhouse gases. Reductions in Energy Consumption and CO Emissions Total energy consumption at Asahi Glass in fiscal 2003 on an annualized basis*1 was down year on year, due to the cessation of operations at the Funabashi Plant and furnace repair work at the Takasago Plant.
On aggregate, AGC Group plants in 23 countries worldwide consume about three times the total energy of the parent company plants in Japan. Global warming prevention programs are under way overseas via measures such as the application of the total oxygen combustion method in Indonesia and Thailand, and the modification of glass melting furnaces in Europe, North America, Thailand and Indonesia to use natural gas.
Glass melting furnace conversion for total oxygen combustion significantly reduces CO emissions. Besides promoting this shift, Asahi Glass is also using new high-performance ion-exchange membrane technology to cut emissions from salt electrolysis operations. Production lines continue to implement separate measures to cut emissions further.
On an annualized basis, total CO

Background and current activities directed toward achieving a sustainable world that is supportive of all human beings.
http://web.syr.edu/~hs38/neaindex.htm
The New Environment Association got started in 1974 in Syracuse, New York, in order to awaken people to the urgency of, and to involve them in:
  • learning how to view environmental and social problems in a holistic way rethinking the way of life we have become accustomed to exploring new economic and social principles that can lead to sustainability working together cooperatively to implement those principles, and creating new communities that are humanly and environmentally sound, in other words, sustainable.
For more information go to: The New Environment Statement of Concern and Statement of Objectives Assumptions on which the New Environment Association is based Some of the history Current and on-going activities ... Getting connected - getting involved Last update of this site: 2 September 2005.
THE NEW ENVIRONMENT (By Harry Schwarzlander, New Environment Bulletin No. 303 Oct. 15, 2002) The question which arises frequently is, "What do you mean by the New Environment? How is it different from the existing world?" In the last Bulletin , in "In a Nutshell", I provided a brief glimpse of an answer to that question by pointing out that the New Environment will have to be structured around fundamentally different guiding principles. I also said that these new guiding principles can be characterized by the quality of "balance" or "harmony." But some readers would like more information: How will life be different? How will the society be different? How will governments, corporations, cities, etc., be different?

Accepting Applications for FY2005 Tokyo - TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION (TMC) began accepting applications today for the FY2005 Toyota Environmental Activities Grant, a program designed to support environmental revitalization and conservation activities, both in Japan and overseas, for the purpose of sustainable development. The program was established in commemoration of TMC's receipt of the Global 500 Award* in 1999 from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and has been implemented every year since FY2000, as part of TMC's environmental philanthropic activities. FY2005 marks the sixth year of its implementation. In addition to general grants, which will continue to support practical projects in the areas of environmental education and environmental technology conducted by NPOs and other non-profit private groups, with no restriction regarding the implementation sites and the limit of the grant amount per project, newly offered small-scale grants will, in FY2005, initially target activities in Japan. These small-scale grants, with a limit on the grant amount per project and with simpler application procedures, are intended to expand the Toyota Environmental Activities Grant program to reach more of society and to encourage more applications from small organizations and groups. In total, approximately 200 million Japanese yen is to be awarded in grants for FY2005.
