Status of Environmental Activities Our activities prior to October, 1997 were reported in "Oki Technical Review: Special Issue on the Earth's Environment," which was published that month, so in this paper, we will introduce the activity since then, focusing mainly on the activities under Oki's "Eco Plan 21." (See Table 2 Global warming Among the earth's environmental problems, the problem of global warming is recognized as the most serious. As indexes related to this problem, our company has taken up "CO discharge quantity" and "amount of electrical power consumed." In Figure 2 , the annual change in our CO discharge quantity is shown. The result of our efforts was that in the year 2000, the CO discharge quantity had been reduced 21.8% compared to the amount in 1995. In the case of our company, almost 80% of our CO discharge quantity is accounted for by use for electrical power generation. As a result, the amount of electrical power consumption shows the same trend as CO
