The new era has started, when we all must consider and conduct ourselves to aim for realization of a sustainable society, while it is believed that the economy of the last century based on mass production, mass consumption and mass disposal has led to excessive impacts on the global environment beyond the Earthfs ability to purify and regenerate itself, and has caused a multitude of environmental problems.
As a company in key industries related to the land, sea and air, we Kawasaki consider it our mission to respond to the diversified needs of people utilizing greatly reduced amounts of resources and energy by the following principal conceptsF
  • Promoting technologies to provide environmentally conscious products;
    To make longer product service life and reduce energy usage during total service life Promoting the reduction of environmental impacts during production stages;
    To save energy, to conserve resources and to reduce industrial waste Promoting technologies and development of advanced products to contribute to the environmental protection field;
    To create a sustainable society for future Earth
Kawasaki drew up the Environmental Charter in 1999 to define our basic corporate approach aiming for the solution of environmental impacts and the realization of a sustainable society. As typical actions for our environmental conscious activities, we have been reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions and industrial wastes at every stage of manufacturing production

  • Global warming
    Among the earth's environmental problems, the problem of global warming is recognized as the most serious.
    As indexes related to this problem, our company has taken up "CO discharge quantity" and "amount of electrical power consumed." In Figure 2 , the annual change in our CO discharge quantity is shown. The result of our efforts was that in the year 2000, the CO discharge quantity had been reduced 21.8% compared to the amount in 1995. In the case of our company, almost 80% of our CO discharge quantity is accounted for by use for electrical power generation. As a result, the amount of electrical power consumption shows the same trend as CO

    Environmental Activities of PDA
    PDA has been a pioneer in the implementation of environmental programs in rural Thailand. These programs are designed both to demonstrate and to educate children, villagers and government officials in alternative methods of waste treatment, water purification, re-forestation, irrigation, sustainable agriculture and habitat preservation. Often the environmental aspects of PDA projects are an integral part of s greater rural development initiative. This page has links to the programs in operation, some of which are covered by the SEED project, others by the TBIRD projects. The Student Environmental Education and Demonstration (SEED) project, funded primarily by the Danish Cooperation for Environment and Development (DANCED) organisation, is a major initiative in bringing about environmental change in Thailand. The project provides relevant and comprehensive education to primary and secondary school students, initiates ecologically sustainable environmental practices and increases the business sector involvement in environmental activities. Follow the link for detailed information on the SEED projects aims and outcomes.
