AEP has reclaimed nearly 7,400 acres of land once used for mining. It has turned some of these lands into camping, hunting and fishing areas. Other lands have been used for tree planting. ReCreation Lands offer camping, hunting, fishing, a mountain bike trail, equestrian trails and a trail for the physically challenged. Anyone can apply for a lifetime permit to use the lands at no cost. However, all fishing and hunting licenses and permits required by the State of Ohio must be obtained to fully utilize the AEP areas.
