183. DB Engineering - General Information
DB engineering is a Canadian, employeeowned firm, which provides Low costover-the-Internet consulting engineering services are also available.
http://www.interlog.com/~dbe/dbeng/dbe/dbeng1.html
DB ENGINEERING DB Engineering is a Canadian, employee-owned firm, which provides consulting engineering services to various industrial, commercial and institutional sectors. The activities of the firm are carried out from its location in Mississauga, Ontario. They concentrate in the fields of energy, applied fluid mechanics and heat transfer, areas that require advanced engineering skills. Low cost over-the-Internet consulting engineering services are also available. The fluid mechanics and heat transfer part of the activities is focussed on design optimization and troubleshooting installations and equipment for both "green field" or modernization projects. The expertise of the firm resides in performing feasibility studies, process and design engineering related to the distribution systems of compressible and incompressible fluids (eg.: off-gas cleaning and handling systems, pipe/duct networks, etc.) and to the flow and heat transfer process in various pieces of equipment. Sensitivity analyses and cost estimating are also parts of these activities. The use of state-of-the-art computer based simulations enables the firm to perform investigations of these processes, of their controls and even of an entire plant in both steady-state and transient regimes. The activities of the firm in the energy field address both energy management and power/cogeneration/renewable energy/waste-to-energy applications. Corporate energy management programs, site energy analyses, definition and optimization of energy efficiency/recovery systems and of power generation installations, process engineering, feasibility studies (including cost estimates, discounted cash flow and Monte Carlo analyses), design and training are an integral part of the services provided in this field.

    General Information
The College of Engineering comprises ten academic units of instruction and research. These units offer programs of study and research leading to bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. Some also offer programs in one or more subdisciplines or subspecialties. The programs in engineering are designed to provide a fundamental understanding of the engineering sciences (which are based on mathematics and the natural sciences), of the basic concepts of the humanities and social sciences, and an understanding of the manner in which these elements are interwoven in engineering practice. Each curriculum provides enough flexibility through elective course opportunities to permit a certain amount of program individualism while meeting basic requirements. ACCESSIBILITY EMAIL US

    http://www.discoverengineering.org/aboutengineers.asp
Engineering has been called the "invisible profession" or the "stealth profession" because most people have no clue what engineers do. This is unfortunate, because everything in society is linked to engineering. A 1998 poll indicated 61% of adults felt "not very well" or "not at all well" informed about engineering. This web site aims to change that statistic. If you surf your way through this site, you'll know way more about engineers and engineering than most adults. You might even decide that you want to become an engineer. Engineers also help people learn more about who they are and what they do during National Engineers Week So what is engineering? It's hard to get a good idea from just a few words. This whole site is meant to help answer that question. If you haven't explored our cool things yet, check those out and then come back to this page. The stuff below will make a lot more sense. A really broad but short definition of engineering is: "Engineering is the application of math and science to create something of value from our natural resources."
