Nothing is more personal than working with women to help them create or expand their family. It requires a doctor who not only provides a superior level of skill and the utmost of experience, but who also understands your fears and concerns. A doctor you’ll feel comfortable sharing your feelings with. A doctor who, from day one, will establish a relationship based on trust, care, and respect. These wonderful attributes became the passionate pursuit of Dr. Martin while attending the Emory University School of Medicine and while teaching students at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, the University of Tennessee and at seminars across the United States and around the world. Today, over three decades later, they remain the very foundations of his practice. Dr. Dan Martin

The Facts on Endometriosis
By Carma Haley
Endometriosis affects approximately one in every 20 women in the United States, according to the National Organization of Obstetric and Gynecologic Medicine. As the condition of endometriosis can cause extreme discomfort, these women live with repeated cycles of pain that affect their every day lives, their time with their families, their jobs and even their ability to conceive a child. What is endometriosis? Why is it so painful and how does it affect a woman's ability to have a child? These answers are not simple ones, but to women who suffer from endometriosis and it's complications these answers are needed so desperately, it pains the heart as well. According to Dr. David Michael, faculty specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Chicago, Ill., endometriosis is "the presence of functioning endometrial glands (the glands that normally line the uterus which produce tissue that prepare the uterus for conception) that occurs outside the uterine cavity. These glands can be located anywhere inside the abdominal cavity or attached to the organs within." The areas inside the abdominal cavity that can be affected by endometriosis include the abdominal wall, kidneys, ovaries, bladder, fallopian tubes, the outside of the uterus itself or even the areas in-between these organs, which are referred to as "cul-de-sacs."

111. Antidote For Endometriosis
endometriosis Cured or Greatly Improved in most of the Cases Dr. Lee Has Treatedwith progesterone.
http://www.endo101.com/
by Elizabeth Smith, M.D.
A True Help for Endometriosis Mainstream physicians readily acknowledge that pregnancy retards endometriosis and in some cases cures endometriosis. Mainstream medicine also acknowledges that menopause cures endometriosis. Now, the United States Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) has approved Natural Progesterone for endometrial (uterine lining) hyperplasia (proliferation). Many mainstream physicians are now using natural progesterone to fool the body into thinking it is pregnant ("pseudopregnancy") and stop endometriosis. Endometriosis is simply uterus innner lining (endometrium) that has ended up where it should not be. The endometrial cells (uterine inner lining) end up in the abdominal cavity next to the intestines, fallopian tubes, or on the ovary, and cycle through a menstrual period there causing endometriosis. What is it about pregnancy that cures endometriosis? There are three types of estrogen that the body produces: estradiol, estrone, and estriol. Estradiol produced during a normal menstrual cycle goes into the cell receptor and stimulates the cell receptor strongly stimulating endometriosis to grow. However, estrone and estriol go into the same receptor and stimulates it weakly blocking out estradiol (estradiol stimulates the endometriosis to grow). During pregnancy, the fetus produces precursors to estriol in the fetuse's adrenal glands. Then, the placenta produces estriol several orders of magnitude greater than the non-pregnant state. Progesterone is also produced by the placenta during pregnancy. "Pro" means "for" and gesterone means "gestation". During regular menstrual cycles, a woman produces 20 mg per day of progesterone. However, during the peak of pregnancy the woman's body produces 400 mg per day of progesterone.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus (the endometrium , from endo , "inside", and metrium , "mother") is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. Endometriosis primarily develops in women of the reproductive age.

Symptoms
A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area. The amount of pain a woman feels is not necessarily related to the extent of endometriosis. Some women will have little or no pain despite having extensive endometriosis affecting large areas or endometriosis with scarring. On the other hand, women may have severe pain even though they have only a few small areas of endometriosis. Symptoms of endometriosis can include (but are not limited to):
  • Painful, sometimes disabling menstrual cramps ( dysmenorrhea ); pain may get worse over time (progressive pain)

Surgery may be needed Endometriosis is a painful, chronic disease that is estimated to affect up to 25% of all women. However, some experts believe the true figure is probably much higher. What is Endometriosis? Endometriosis occurs when the tissue which lines the uterus - the endometrium - is found elsewhere in the body. This can be in the abdomen, on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, bladder, bowel, vagina, cervix or vulva. Less commonly endometrial growths may also be found in the lung, arm or thigh. In the uterus, endometrial tissue builds up during the menstrual cycle, and then breaks down and sheds off during a period. This keeps the lining of the uterus healthy and ready to nourish a developing foetus. However, the when the tissue acts in the same way outside the uterus it can cause problems. Menstrual blood can be easily shed from the uterus, not from elsewhere in the body. This can result in internal bleeding and inflammation.

Endometriosis
Many women experience painful periods. In a minority of cases, this can be caused by endometriosis, a condition in which small pieces of the endometrium (womb lining) grow outside the womb. Endometriosis occurs in 1-15% of women of childbearing age. In many women it causes no symptoms, but in others it can cause severe pain and may reduce the chances of becoming pregnant.
What is endometriosis?
During the menstrual cycle the lining of the uterus (womb), known as the endometrium, gradually thickens and fills with blood as it prepares for the arrival of a fertilised egg. If the egg is not fertilised, the uterus lining breaks down and is lost as the monthly period. Sometimes small pieces of endometrium grow on organs outside the uterus. This is called endometriosis. The endometriosis goes through the same monthly changes as the uterus lining; sometimes swelling and bleeding into the body cavity, which can cause inflammation and pain. Rubbery bands of scar tissue, called adhesions, may form. These can attach organs and tissues together and affect surrounding organs.
