Washington, D. C. Early Years:
Eisenhower went to school in Abilene, Kansas, and then worked to help a brother through college. He took the Naval Academy exam, placing first, and the West Point exam, placing second, but entered West Point because he was too old for the Naval Academy. During World War II he served as commander of all U. S. forces in Europe. His Presidency: Eisenhower enforced racial integration of public schools and pushed through programs for the completion of the St. Lawrence Seaway and expansion of the Interstate Highway System. During both his terms he took many measures to protect the world from Communism and was well loved by people at home and abroad.

United Church of Christ Keep in mind that in the table above, the % of the U.S. population for religious groups are current figures. Religious groups have had much different proportions at various time in U.S. history. One of the most over-represented religious groups among U.S. presidents is Unitarianism. Despite merging with Universalism in the 1960s, the combined proportion of Unitarian Universalists in the U.S. population is just 0.2% of the population (one in every 500 Americans). Yet there have been 4 Unitarian presidents. Another over-represented religious group among U.S. presidents is Dutch Reformed, by virtue of having two U.S. presidents, yet having only a small number of people left in the country who identify themselves as Reformed. The contemporary heir to the Dutch Reformed churches is the "Reformed Church in America," which has about 300,000 members in the U.S. and Canada. (Alternatively, one might count only a single president as Dutch Reformed, if Theodore Roosevelt is counted as an Episcopalian sources differ on this subject . Even just one Dutch Reformed president would constitute statistical over-representation.) After that, Disciples of Christ, Episcopalians, and Quakers have also had representation in the White House far outstripping their proportion of the U.S. population.

      Dwight David Eisenhower Born: Birthplace:
Denison, Tex. Dwight David Eisenhower was born in Denison, Tex., on Oct. 14, 1890. His ancestors lived in Germany and emigrated to America, settling in Pennsylvania, early in the 18th century. His father, David, had a general store in Hope, Kans., which failed. After a brief time in Texas, the family moved to Abilene, Kan. After graduating from Abilene High School in 1909, Eisenhower did odd jobs for almost two years. He won an appointment to the Naval Academy at Annapolis, but was too old for admittance. Then he received an appointment in 1910 to West Point, from which he graduated as a second lieutenant in 1915. He did not see service in World War I, having been stationed at Fort Sam Houston, Tex. There he met Mamie Geneva Doud, whom he married in Denver on July 1, 1916, and by whom he had two sons: Doud Dwight (died in infancy) and John Sheldon Doud. Eisenhower served in the Philippines from 1935 to 1939 with Gen. Douglas MacArthur. Afterward, Gen. George C. Marshall, the army chief of staff, brought him into the War Department's General Staff and in 1942 placed him in command of the invasion of North Africa. In 1944, he was made Supreme Allied Commander for the invasion of Europe.

ONDAY, JANUARY 21, 1957 January 20 occurred on a Sunday, so the President took the oath in the East Room at the White House that morning. The next day he repeated the oath of office on the East Portico of the Capitol. Chief Justice Earl Warren administered the oath of office on the President's personal Bible from West Point. Marian Anderson sang at the ceremony at the Capitol. A large parade and four inaugural balls followed the ceremony.
THE PRICE OF PEACE Mr. Chairman, Mr. Vice President, Mr. Chief Justice, Mr. Speaker, members of my family and friends, my countrymen, and the friends of my country, wherever they may be, we meet again, as upon a like moment four years ago, and again you have witnessed my solemn oath of service to you. I, too, am a witness, today testifying in your name to the principles and purposes to which we, as a people, are pledged. Before all else, we seek, upon our common labor as a nation, the blessings of Almighty God. And the hopes in our hearts fashion the deepest prayers of our whole people.

(b. Oct. 14, 1890, Denison, Texas, U.S.d. March 28, 1969, Washington, D.C.), 34th president of the United States (1953-61), who had been supreme commander of the Allied forces in western Europe during World War II.
Early career
He was the third of seven sons of David Jacob and Ida Elizabeth (Stover) Eisenhower. In the spring of 1891 the Eisenhowers returned to Abilene, Kan., where their ancestors had settled as part of a Mennonite colony. Dwight's father worked in a creamery; the family was poor, and Dwight and his brothers were introduced to hard work and a strong religious tradition at an early age. "Ike," as Dwight was called, was a fun-loving youth who enjoyed sports, while taking only a moderate interest in his studies. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1909, supported a brother's college education for a year, and then entered the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He excelled in football but injured a knee in his second year at the academy and was forced to stop playing. In the remarkable class of 1915which was to produce 59 generalshe ranked 61st academically and 125th in discipline out of the total of 164 graduates. He was commissioned a second lieutenant and was sent to San Antonio, Texas, where he met Mamie Geneva Doud, daughter of a successful Denver meat packer. They were married in 1916 and had two sons: Doud Dwight, born in 1917, who died of scarlet fever in 1921, and John Sheldon Doud, born in 1922.

Abstract
This paper analyzes the neurobiological disorder Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder The paper begins by defining A.D.H.D. It then discusses the etiology, treatment options, gender and cultural characteristics, as well as the future prognosis of the disorder.
From the Paper:
"Currently there is no "cure" for ADHD. Children with the disorder seldom outgrow it; however, some may find adaptive ways to accommodate ADHD as they mature. The long-term prognosis when ADHD is unrecognized and untreated in the adolescent is discouraging: maternal and prenatal morbidity may be anticipated. The actual assessment of risk in the setting of pregnancy and unrecognized ADHD remains largely unknown, and the benefits of timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment of ADHD during pregnancy have yet to be addressed." Print Preview of Section Eisenhower stayed in Europe through 1945 as commander of the American occupation forces in western Germany. He encouraged democratic practices that were unheard of under the previous regime in Germany, such as inviting news reporters to criticize him and urging schoolteachers to teach differing points of view. From 1945 to 1948 Eisenhower served as chief of staff of the army. It was an unhappy time for him because he had to preside over demobilization, which shrank the army from more than 8 million men and women to less than 1 million. After retirement as a five-star general in 1948 he wrote his memoirs, Crusade in Europe.
