As ancient as history itself, Cairo occupies a singular place among world cities, with a geographical position so unique that an interchange of influence with the civilizations to which it stood witness was made possible. In fact Cairo could be the world's only city with monuments dating back to four different historical periods-the Pharaonic, the Roman, the Christian and the Islamic. Thus, alongside the ancient city, revelling in the old glories, there stands modern Cairo, witness of the enormous progress by Egyptian hands. Geographical information

By Paul Barton The earliest people in the Americas were people of the Negritic African race, who entered the Americas perhaps as early as 100,000 years ago, by way of the bering straight and about thirty thousand years ago in a worldwide maritime undertaking that included journeys from the then wet and lake filled Sahara towards the Indian Ocean and the Pacific, and from West Africa across the Atlantic Ocean towards the Americas.
According to the Gladwin Thesis, this ancient journey occurred, particularly about 75,000 years ago and included Black Pygmies, Black Negritic peoples and Black Australoids similar to the Aboriginal Black people of Australia and parts of Asia, including India.

The ancient West African coastal and interior Kingdoms occupied an area that is now covered with dense vegetation but may have been cleared about three to four thousand years ago. This includes the regions from the coasts of West Africa to the South, all the way inland to the Sahara. A number of large kingdoms and empires existed in that area. According to Blisshords Communications, one of the oldest empires and civilizions on earth existed just north of the coastal regions into what is today Mauritania. It was called the Zingh Empire and was highly advanced. In fact, they were the first to use the red, black and green African flag and to plant it throughout their territory all over Africa and the world.

By David Sunfellow Ancient Egypt. No other human civilization lasted longer or produced a greater collection of astonishing monuments. And of all the monuments ancient Egypt producedindeed, of all the monuments the race of man has ever producednone are more grand, more genuinely stunning than the Great Pyramid of Giza and its solitary guardian, the Great Sphinx. Who built these incredible monuments and why? When were they built and how? Are these ancient monuments the handiwork of ancient Egyptians as today's archeologists and Egyptologists believe, or are they the handiwork of other, more technologically advanced civilizationspossibly Atlanteans or extraterrestrials? Although everyone (professional and lay person alike) seems to have some kind of theory about how these great monuments came to be, no one has yet come forth with a theory that ties together all the pieces of the puzzle (at least no one we know of). There are, however, several fascinating controversies presently whirling around these ancient monuments that we wanted to share with you. To begin with, a story released by the Associated Press in early October of this year claims that workers repairing the Sphinx have discovered an ancient passageway that leads into the Sphinx. The passageway, which is located halfway between the Sphinx's outstretched paws and its curved tail, is located on the left, or northern side of the mysterious monument. Zahi Hawass, the Giza Antiquity Chief, is reported to believe that the passageway dates from pharaonic times, at least 4,600 years ago.

By Roger Croteau Findings by a Texas State University-San Marcos professor at an archaeological site in Belize have pushed back the date for the rise of the Maya civilization to 300 years earlier than previously believed. Anthropology professor James J. Garber has worked at the site, known as Blackman Eddy, each summer since 1990. Although smaller than many other Maya ruins, it was a major cultural center in the Upper Belize Valley. The site was discovered by chance in the 1980s, when a bulldozer doing road work in the area hit a pyramid, destroying half of it. Because the Blackman Eddy pyramid was badly damaged and in danger of collapse, Belize authorities allowed Garber and his team of students from what was then Southwest Texas State University to excavate it to bedrock. It was believed that the indigenous groups living in Central America before 800 B.C. were hunter-gatherers. But Garber found that they had a much more complex society, with sophisticated agriculture, long-distance trade routes, and an established religious and political center.

Egyptian Civilization The origins of ancient Egyptian civilization, which many regard as one of the fountainheads of Western culture, cannot be established with certainty. Archaeological evidence suggests that early dwellers in the Nile Valley were influenced by cultures of the Near East, but the degree of this influence is yet to be determined. Describing the development of Egyptian civilization, like attempts to identify its intellectual foundations, is largely a process of conjecture based on archaeological discoveries of enduring ruins, tombs, and monuments, many of which contain invaluable specimens of the ancient culture. Inscriptions in hieroglyphs, for instance, have provided priceless data. The framework for the study of the Dynastic period of Egyptian history, between the 1st dynasty and the Ptolemaic period, relies on the Aegyptiaca of Manetho, a Ptolemaic priest of the 3rd century BC, who organized the country’s rulers into 30 dynasties, roughly corresponding to families. General agreement exists on the division of Egyptian history, up to the conquest of Alexander the Great , into Old, Middle, and New kingdoms with intermediate periods, followed by the late and Ptolemaic periods, but chronology and genealogy are continually being refined in light of new evidence and by the use of increasingly sophisticated dating techniques.

Egyptian Civilization
Overview
The basic element in the lengthy history of Egyptian civilization is geography. The Nile River rises from the lakes of central Africa as the White Nile and from the mountains of Ethiopia as the Blue Nile. The White and Blue Nile meet at Khartoum and flow together northward to the Nile delta, where the 4000 mile course of this river spills into the Mediterranean Sea (see map Less than two inches of rain per year falls in the delta and rain is relatively unknown in other parts of Egypt. Most of the land is uninhabitable. These geographical factors have determined the character of Egyptian civilization. People could farm only along the banks of the Nile, where arid sand meets the fertile soil. Of course, each summer the Nile swells as the rains pour down and the snow melts on the mountains. The river overflows its banks and floods the land with fresh water and deposits a thick layer of rich alluvial soil. The land would then yield two harvests before winter. This yearly flood determined more than just the agricultural needs of early Egypt. It also determined the lifecycle of society and helped to create the world view of ancient Egyptian civilization. The basic source of Egyptian history is a list of rulers compiled in c.280 B.C. by Manetho for the Macedonians who ruled Egypt. Manetho divided Egyptian kings into thirty dynasties (a 31st was added later) in the following manner.

by Joanne O'Brien, ICOREC The Red Crown
The civilization of Ancient Egypt flourished for more than 3,000 years. In the pre-dynastic period Egypt was divided into the kingdoms of Upper and Lower Egypt, the King of Upper Egypt wore the white crown and the King of Lower Egypt wore the red crown. After years of bitter struggle between the kings of the north and the south, the north was finally defeated, Egypt was united under the Southerner, Menes, and the first dynasty was founded around 3100 BCE. The memory of a pre-dynastic Egypt lived on in the pharaohs' title King of Upper and Lower Egypt. The most important periods of Egyptian history are divided into thirty two dynasties which extend from the beginning of the literate period, under the rule of Menes, until Egypt became a Roman province around 30 BCE. The successive pharaohs of Egypt were divided into these dynasties. Throughout her history Egypt passed through periods of turbulent political upheaval and times of peace, power and prosperity. The most stable and productive periods of Egyptian history are marked by the Old, Middle and New Kingdoms. At the end of the New Kingdom Egypt suffered a series of foreign invasions and rulers and the great periods of Egyptian civilization went into decline. Religious universe stretching over a period of time of about 3000 years, from about 3000 BC to BC, centered in today's Egypt and northern Sudan, cultures centered around the river Nile, but towards the end of its period interacting with religious beliefs from other parts of the Mediterranean Sea, with several parallel and competing orientations as well as strong changes over time. The religious material available is relatively primitive when compared to the rest of Egyptian culture of the same time. The different religious orientations shared one thing in common: they focused on the stability of the universe, there was little belief in a continuous change. To ancient Egyptians the term 'religion' did not exist. The worship of their gods and goddesses was part of their everyday life. The Egyptian Temple was considered the home of the god and only members of the priesthood was allowed to enter beyond the outer court. The ordinary worshipper had to stop there, and when he brought offerings, it was taken care of by a priest who carried it into the temple. All temples were surrounded by a wall and in the outside of this there were a hole or a window to which worshippers could come and whisper their prayers or questions or leave a note with some words scribbled on it. The priest who was on duty then took care of the note in order to bring the words in front of the god.
In the remote corners of the land, far away from the great religious centra, the gods were as ardently revered. Maybe offerings were not as lavish, nor the priesthood as many or as prosperous, but in those villages or little towns where there was no temple, a shrine was erected out in the open. It was often taken care of by the community people, perhaps led by a priest currently not doing temple duty, so the services were performed and the gods attended to in due order.

Ancient Egypt
I. Introduction
Ancient Egypt, civilization that thrived along the Nile River in northeastern Africa for more than 3,000 years, from about 3300 BC to 30 BC. It was the longest-lived civilization of the ancient world. Geographically, the term ancient Egypt indicates the territory where the ancient Egyptians lived in the valley and delta of the Nile. Culturally, it refers to the ways ancient Egyptians spoke, worshiped, understood the nature of the physical world, organized their government, made their livings, entertained themselves, and related to others who were not Egyptian. The Nile River, which formed the focus of ancient Egyptian civilization, originates in the highlands of East Africa and flows northward throughout the length of what are now Sudan and Egypt. Northwest of modern-day Cairo, it branches out to form a broad delta, through which it empties into the Mediterranean Sea. Because of seasonal rains farther south in Africa, the Nile overflowed its banks in Egypt every year. When the floodwaters receded, a rich black soil covered the floodplain. This natural phenomenon and its effects on the environment enabled the ancient Egyptians to develop a successful economy based on agriculture.

This article is divided into the following sections: Egypt, the dawn of history. Why was the pyramid built? The historic proof (Hirodotus' script). Recent findings, excavations and theories. ... One final word. I) Egypt, the dawn of history: The civilization of ancient Egypt is significant in several ways. Together with those of Mesopotamia, India, and China, it was one of the earliest civilizations, and it is perhaps the best example of continuous cultural evolution based on internal stimuli, rather than the complex mix of internal and external factors found, for example, in Mesopotamia.

The monumental temples of Egypt must have appeared daunting to the majority of ordinary people but popular cults did develop around architectural features of the temple. At Memphis, for example, there was a cult of Horus "on the corner of the southern door". Other popular cults grew around the posthumous reputation of famous people, for example, Imhotep, a renowned physician and architect of the third dynasty step pyramid at Saqqara was later worshipped as the god of medicine. Magic also played a central role in Egyptian religion for rich and poor alike. Ritual words, gestures and objects were believed to carry considerable power.
sun-god Aten is in the upper-right Throughout Egyptian history new gods were accepted into the extensive Egyptian pantheon. At times, however, the literature of the New Kingdom indicates the recognition of a central power behind these countless deities, a power which could be reflected in many forms. This was particularly evident after the reign of the 18th dynasty pharaoh Amenophis IV, who changed his name to Akhenaten and tried to introduce the worship of the Aten as the official Egyptian religion. The Aten's creative power was manifested in the disc of the sun and the pharaoh Akhenaten was his sole representative on earth. After Akhenaten's death there was a move back to traditional cultural practices.

The Pyramids: Part 1 (a simpler matrix, and the story)
Recently while appearing on the Earth Changes TV program discussing the Bible codes, the host, Mitch Battros, asked me whether I had done a Bible code matrix on the pyramids in Egypt. That seemed to be a wonderful project to tackle. I delved into the topic and outlined 3 questions that I wanted to answer from a matrix on the pyramids of Egypt. They are:
  • Who built the pyramids on the Giza Plateau?
  • When were the pyramids built?
  • Do the pyramids portray the 3 stars in the belt of Orion constellation?
My research led me to books by the following (which I had already read):
  • Fingerprints Of The Gods, by Graham Hancock, 1995.
  • The Orion Mystery, by Robert Bauval, 1994.
October 1999 USAF photo of pyramid Menkaura and the 3 small Queen's Pyramids partially obscured to the south. The planes of Operation Bright Star 99 are led by a USAF B1-B bomber, followed by fighters from Egypt, Jordan, Italy, and France. Menkaura is the smallest of the 3 large pyramids on the Giza Plateau, and corresponds to the star Mintaka in the belt of Orion constellation. USAF photo by Jim Varhegyl At its low point, the brightest star in the belt of Orion, Alnitak, is at a declination of 11 degrees and 8 minutes above the horizon. At its high point 13,000 years later, Alnitak is 58 degrees 11 minutes of declination above the horizon. From the work of Hancock and Bauval, they theorize that the Giza Plateau pyramids and Sphinx were laid out to portray a specific point in time, when the constellation Leo was in ascension and Alnitak was at its lowest declination point of 11 degrees and 8 minutes.
