GOLD IN THE ANCIENT WORLD
Gold exists more or less evenly dispersed, with exceptions, in the crystallized rocks of the continents and major islands. Some of the notable exceptions of interest to students of the ancient world are abundant deposits in present day Hungary, Germany, the Ural Mountains of Russia, northern Spain, northern India, Ceylon, Senegal, the area around the Second Cataract of the Nile, the western coast of Africa and the shores of the Arabian Sea. Important places without native gold include the Tigris/Euphrates Valley, Cyprus and Mesopotamia. Gold does not form chemical compounds easily, and therefore it is usually found almost pure in nature. The other heavy metals quickly decompose into compounds that are then dissolved away as they are exposed to weathering. The most common impurities in native gold are trace amounts of silver, copper, zinc, and lead. Native gold is gold as it is found, before any refining. Gold is often found as a by-product of the mining of these other heavy metals. The earth is being constantly worn down by weathering forces such as rain, wind, freezing, thawing and plant roots. For millions of years these agents of change have been mining gold and depositing it into alluvial deposits. An alluvial gold deposit is a concentration of gold that is put in place by the natural action of the flow of water, where the heavy gold settles out of the moving water, while lighter material like quartz is washed farther downstream. Because gold does not decompose like silver when exposed to the elements, alluvial gold deposits have accumulated for millions of years.

Origin of the Ancient Egyptians
by Cheikh Anta Diop The general acceptance, as a sequel to the work of Professor [Louis B.] Leakey, of the hypothesis of mankind's monogenetic and African origin, makes it possible to pose the question of the peopling of Egypt and even of the world in completely new terms. More than 150,000 years ago, beings morphologically identical with the man of today were living in the region of the great lakes at the sources of the Nile and nowhere else. This notion, and others which it would take too long to recapitulate here, form the substance of the last report presented by the late Dr. Leakey at the Seventh Pan-African Congress of Pre-History in Addis Ababa in 1971. It means that the whole human race had its origin, just as the ancients had guessed, at the foot of the mountains of the Moon. Against all expectations and in defiance of recent hypotheses it was from this place that men moved out to people the rest of the world. From this two facts of capital importance result: (a) of necessity the earliest men were ethnically homogeneous and negroid. Gloger's law, which

despise and fear the nomadic tribes around them - often with good reason. Nomadic tribes still wandered the wide world beyond the first civilizations. Indeed in the Americas and Australia, and in Africa south of the Sahara, the nomads had no idea that any alternative lifestyle existed. Nomadic people in Europe and Asia had more contact with settled societies. They followed their herds from summer to winter pastures and constructed a social life around that seasonal movement. They lived in their own tribal units but could be broadly split into three important groups. The Mongolian peoples roamed the grasslands of central Asia and were skilled with horses; the light-brown-skinned Semitic tribes used the deserts of Arabia to rear goats and sheep; and the pale-skinned Aryans occupied much of Europe. 2,400 BC

    BACKGROUND
The word Africa was used by the ancient Romans to refer to their colonial province in the area that is present-day Tunisia and eastern Algeria. Its possible derivations are the Latin word aprica , meaning "sunny", and the Greek word aphrike , meaning "without cold." Archeological finds suggest that Africa is the cradle of humankind. The earliest fossil remains of humans, however one defines human , have been found in eastern and southern Africa. For example, if being human is defined as bipedality ("walking upright"), then the remains found in Ethiopia in 1974 of a four-million-year-old apelike creature apply. If defined as "making tools" (tools from stones that were sharpened or flattened), then the fossilized remains unearthed in 1986 in Tanzania's Olduvai Gorge are particularly significant. About two million years old, they were those of Homo habilus , the first toolmaker. (Even more recent studies have led to the conclusion that humans first learned to fashion sophisticated tools in Africa, not in Europe, as many experts had thought. These tools, carved from the ribs of large mammals, include double-pointed blades with carved barbs and single points with ridges that could have been used for attachment to spear shafts. They were discovered in Zaire along its border with Uganda and are said to be between 75,000 to 90,000 years old.) If "using fire" defines being human, then the one-million-year-old remains found at Kenya's Lake Turkana of

Tiahuanaco, was the capital of the Pre-Inca Civilization.
    It is also spelled Tiwanaku.
The Inca Civilizations was an aboriginal American Indian culture that evolved in the Andean region (western South America) prior to Spanish exploration and conquest in the 16th century. The pre-Columbian civilization was extraordinary in its developments of human society and culture, ranking with the early civilizations of Egypt, Mesopotamia. There are several myths about Pre-Inca Civilizations. As with all ancient civilizations, legends and ancient stone carvings and monuments speak of creation by gods who came from the skies, yet no one is certain how any of these civilizations came into being. Many just seem to spring up as if out of no where. There is a pre-Incan legend that speaks of Viracocha who is depicted in many forms. There is a duality about this deity, which is not unlike gods in other civilizations - the good god and the warrior side to his personality. We see him as he enlightened god in the white robes who brings knowledge and the warrior god with staves in his hands and a sun symbol around his head, not unlike the sun god Ra in ancient Egypt. As we third dimension is a duality - all things have good and evil charactistics - including the gods of all myths. Viracocha - as duality is depicted as the sun god of creation [wearing a sun crown] and the moon god. Viracocha, as the feathered serpent god, is one of the great mysteries of ancient American cultures. He was called Kukulkan by the Mayas, Quetzalcoatl by the Aztecs, Viracocha by the Incas, Gucumatz in central America, Votan in Palenque and Zamna in Izamal.

According to a report published on the Internet on December 1, 1996, by Robert Hancock, British author of the best selling books, "The Sign and the Seal" and "Fingerprints of the Gods," the Gantenbrink experiment1 was conducted in the Great Pyramid on October 20, 1996. This project entailed an exploration of the narrow passage leading up from the southern shaft of the "Queen's Chamber" in the Great Pyramid. For several years, Egyptologists have known that a door exists at the upper end of the "Queen's Chamber," but until October 20, no one had penetrated it. Here, then, are the words of Hancock regarding the events of that date: "At the end of the ascending passage, 8

There are countless images of the ancient Hebrews. Few come from the Hebrews themselves. Many come from the great masters of European art who for centuries focused primarily on Biblical scenes. Here these images are fascinating, but usually not acurate depictions of ancient Hbrews. In fact the clothing depicted is often replications of Medieval Europe. One popular theme that Western artists have pursued through the centuries has been biblical depictions. Magnificent and dramatic works of art, whilst not always realistic and are imaginary, by renowned grand masters are national treasures in their country of origin. In contemporary times, wonderfully illustrated books depicting key moments from the biblical era for children are still popular as ever. This illustration by Harry G. by Marie Parsons Today visitors can tour Egypt by car, by camel, by felucca, along the Nile and to the Pyramids. But modern humanity is not the first to marvel at the wonders of the monuments and significant sites of Egypt. The first non-Egyptian essays about Egyptian history and culture were not written this century or in the preceding two centuries. Modern, Western man is a latecomer into Egypt. Antiquity Politics and the Kamose Find by John Warren Egypt's rich heritage of antiquities has often played a major role in the country's political dealings, particularly with the west. This is one reason British, French and American museums are filled with Egyptian artifacts. It was not all plundered as such. Many antiquities were given as presents to foreign dignitaries. In fact, a few late Egyptian kings worked very diligently to provide visiting dignitaries with exceptional "finds". When Prince Napoleon, cousin of Napoleon III of France decided to visit Egypt around sometime after 1857, Said Pasha who then ruled Egypt "wanted every step of the visiting price to sprout antiquities".
