Robert Dixon's Internet Resources for Secondary Teachers - An Update A List of Selected Internet Resources for
Secondary School Teachers of Economics: An Update by Robert Dixon This paper updates the material to be found in Robert Dixon's list of Internet Resources for Teachers of Economics in that it reports sites which may be useful to schoolteachers of Economics in addition to those reported in the other document. It is a complement to the other document, not a substitute for it.
I begin with sites developed specifically to meet the needs of economics educators and then move on to look at other sites which, whilst not developed specifically for economics educators, none-the-less have something to offer. Sites developed specifically for economics educators
Kim Sosin of the Center for Economics Education at the University of Nebraska has an excellent page full of ideas about the use of the internet for economics education and some marvellous examples see his Using the Internet to Teach Economics: An Idea Page . Sosin has a really neat example using the internet to teach demand and supply theory
This page will provide you with an Online Lesson on Demand with explanations followed by a self quiz. This material is an EXCELLENT example of the power of the internet and hypermedia links in teaching and learning.

The Arkansas Council on Economic Education (ACEE) is a private, non-profit, non-partisan, educational organization founded in 1962 to promote economic literacy in Arkansas.
The mission of the ACEE is to promote economic literacy and the economic-way of thinking Real-life economics involves:
  • Teaching youth to invest in their human capital. Teaching youth the skills to make wise choices, because all choices involve costs. Teaching youth financial literacy. Teaching youth our free enterprise and market system.
Economic education is real-life, because all young people will grow up and become part of the marketplace. The ACEE provides resources and training to K-12 teachers in both public and independent schools in Arkansas. Our belief is that through training teachers, the multiplier effect is achieved. Each school year, the training a teacher receives through the ACEE can impact new children. Our vision is to create a state of people with the real-life skills they need to succeed: to think and choose responsibly as individuals, consumers, savers, investors, citizens, members of the workforce, and to be effective participants in both their local communities and the global economy. Economic literacy is essential to improve the standard of living for all Arkansans.
