    What do we do?
Our research interests span many aspects of soil ecology and microbiology, from a fundamental understanding of the biogeochemistry and ecological interactions among soil fauna and plants, to the microbial ecology of domestic wastewater treatment in leachfield soils. On the education side, our focus is on the use of Problem-Based Learning in soil science, providing experiential learning experiences for undergraduate students in natural resources, and science education reform at the K-12 level.
