OELP English Language Teaching Resources Overview There are many web sites to support English language teaching. Some are intended for English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) settings and some are for classrooms in which English is the primary language of instruction for content. The Essentials of Language Teaching from the National Capitol Language Resource Center (NCLRC) is an example of a site that offers descriptions and examples of learner-centered instruction, reflective teaching practice for ESOL. And, the (NCELA) is an example of a site that collects, analyzes, synthesizes and disseminates information about language instruction educational programs for bilingual or English-only classrooms. This page contains links to sets of resources on topics that teachers of English as a foreign or second language have requested in previous OELP workshops. These resource handouts can be copied and distributed for educational, non-commercial purposes. They are available in two formats: HTML (Web pages in hypertext mark up language) DOC (MS Word documents) Directions If you want to see a handout in web page format, click on the blue HTML link below. Note: this web page remains open and the HTML handouts open in additional windows. Simply close the additional windows when you are finished with them.

This work is part of a larger international project, DRACON - a project that has been in operation since 1995 pioneering research into drama and conflict management in Sweden, Malaysia and Australia. Morag's research is a case study of three adolescent girls and their experiences as peer teachers and drama and conflict project participants. Emergent findings suggest that both participation in drama and the students' role in peer teaching others can significantly enhance both self-esteem and the abilty to manage conflict situations in real-life as a result of working with others in fictional dramatic contexts.

Educational Drama Institute - THEATROMATHIA ABOUT US
The Educational Drama Institute of Greece – Theatromathia founded in January 2001 by a group of artists who for many years were working hard to create a company that would contribute to the development of drama/theatre in education. EDI is a non-profit company. Our base is in Athens but we are trying to reach even the most remote places in Greece.
The management director s
Today with the contribution of volunteers and members, we made a long way in reaching our goals. Our principal activities are productions of educational plays, seminars, workshops, lectures, publications and as well as special projects and initiatives.
Until now, we have conducted seminars and workshops in Athens, Thessaly, Peloponnesus, and Thessalonica. We also performed our plays in Athens, Thessaly and Sparta. We produce and broadcast as radio-theatre series for young children, Greek literature adapted for radio by Takis Chrissoulis (at the radio station of the Church of Greece).
We believe that as in ancient Greece theatre was a means of education for people, we must use it today as an educational tool meeting this way its origins.

About Us Contact Us Our next product: A sample unit from Ten MORE Plays for the ESL/EFL Classroom. Carlisle Publications Gary Carkin, Ph.D.
Owner/Editor Carlisle Publications Welcome to Carlisle Publication's website! Carlisle Publications is dedicated to bringing you the best of ESL/EFL Drama related materials, written and produced either by ourselves or by other authors.
Hi! I'm Gary Carkin, editor/owner of Carlisle Publications and Professor of ESOL at the Center for Language Education, Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, New Hampshire. I'm also an actor and writer. As a result, I find delight in my specialization which is using drama for English language teaching and I want to share with you a new text of plays written by yours truly with exercises developed by my colleagues, Catherine-Ann Day and Denis Hall. For a long time, the field has suffered from a dearth of ESL/EFL drama texts that can be used efficiently in language classrooms. That's why we formed Carlisle Publications. Our mission is to seek out and publish drama materials that will support YOUR work in the language classroom at the lowest prices possible through new "print on demand" technology.
The first book that we'd like to offer you comes out of over ten years of work in the drama-language classroom. We developed the book because we couldn't find an update for the fine book of sketches by Doug Case and Ken Wilson
