Dollmaking Techniques - through pictures -
1 Materials
:Above;Glue for craft(it becomes clear later)/Excelsior(wood wool)
:Under;white cotton fabric / white stretch cotton fabric
/ skin colored stretch cotton fabric / cotton / button for eyes(6mm) / wires
2 Place the head pattern on the white cotten fabric and trace,
sew leaving the top open. Cut it taking 6mm(1/4") seam allowance.
3 Turn it right side out.
4 Stuff the excelsior in it very tightly and firmly.
Cut some thick wire and put it inside the neck.
5 Stitch around the top and pull up tightly.
6 Spread some cotton, Cut 3 pieces(1 small, 2 large) by hand.
7 Put some excelsior on the center of each pieces.
8 Roll one of the large (for a cheek bone) and small one (for the chin)
Wrap the other large one (for forehead).
9 Stitch and fix these pieces on the head (from chin, cheek, forehead).
10 Cut wires and make form for nose and lips.
11 Make holes in the face,
Push (10)wires into the holes putting some glue at the point.
12 Nose is the center, lips are between the chin and cheek bone.

Il Ribbonwork è un'arte creativa di cui, negli ultimi 15 anni, si era persa traccia. A farla rivivere sono stati i dollmakers e gli amanti della modisteria antica. Ma che cos'è il Ribbonwork? E' semplicemente l'arte di assemblare dei nastri di seta, raso, velluto, organza o cotone per creare dei bellissimi fiori: rose, viole, primule ect. E visto che si presta anche per abbellire i vestiti e gli accessori delle bambole,i dollmakers hanno pensato bene di utilizzarla. Purtroppo, in rete non ho trovato immagini di abiti per bambole decorati con questa tecnica, ma ho trovato un esempio che vi darà comunque un' idea di che cos'è il ribbonwork.

If you are working on a DAG title, have all of your requirements except for your ribbon, and cannot travel to any of our events, you may send in your doll to the DAG to be judged. To receive information, send a business size, stamped and addressed envelope to DAG, and at the same time request the affidavit you need. Make sure you have paid the fee for the title, if not, do request the form you need, and send it back to DAG soonest.
