Background: Like all crustaceans, a crayfish has a fairly hard exoskeleton that covers its body. The cephalothorax consists of the cephalic (or head) region and the thoracic region. The part of the exoskeleton that covers the cephalothorax is called the carapace. Laczkovich, Combinatorica 10 (1990) 281-306. I haven't seen the article itself, only a reference to it (in the book "Algebra and Tiling: Homomorphisms in the Service of Geometry" by Sherman Stein and Sandor Szabo), so i'm not sure if Laczkovich completely determines which triangles work. He did show that there are only 3 triangles that aren't right triangles which work, namely those with angles (pi/8, pi/4, 5 pi/8), (pi/4, pi/3, 5 pi/12), and (pi/12, pi/4, 2 pi/3).
