Dinosaurs of the Gobi: The birdlike, beaked Oviraptor returns to the nest to feed its young, in a painting based on paleontological finds in the desert in Mongolia that show for the first time such parenting behavior in dinosaurs.
For decades afterward Mongolia was closed to Western researchers. Finally, in 1990, Mongolians invited scientists from the museum to return to the fabulous dinosaur graveyards. Now, after five years of exploration, the researchers are beginning to reveal their spectacular finds. Venturing even deeper into the remote Gobi than Andrews did, the 1993 expedition stumbled upon a hilly desert wash called Ukhaa Tolgod. Within hours of arriving and seeing bones jutting from the cliffs, they knew they had discovered perhaps the richest dinosaur fossil ground ever. This article details the exciting 1995 expedition led by paleontologists Michael Novacek and Mark Norell, a pair of scientists whose discoveries are challenging the way we look at dinosaurs. Among the extraordinary events covered is the excavation of the first known nesting dinosaur, an ostrich-like creature called Oviraptor , whose bones were found on a ring of some 20 eggs. It apparently died when a huge sandstorm buried it 80 million years ago.

We Have Evolved...
Our specialty and first love is STILL dinosaurs. Dinamos was originally created for all of us who love dinosaurs; especially for children who are fascinated by the mysteries behind them. Through time, just like the dinosaurs . . .we have evolved. Until now, we have limited our designs to those of a dinosaur nature. Over the course of time, we have been requested to offer embroidery designs on different topics. So here we are. You will now find that we offer designs on several other topics. Some of these designs are from purchased software that licences us to do this. Ica burial stone found in Peru Response to the History Channel's The Quest for Dinosaurs program New The evolutionism myth is used to promote the erroneous belief that humans and dinosaurs lived millions of years apart from each other. Children and adults are indoctrinated with this 'belief' starting from early childhood with books that teach it. It's reinforced in the public school system, the media and the entertainment industry. Recent examples include the highly misleading TV documentary called Walking with Dinosaurs that aired on the Discovery Channel , and the History Channel's The Quest for Dinosaurs program. The Bible clearly teaches that humans and dinosaurs (called "dragons" in the past) were created on the same day . One must engage in hermeneutical back flips to interpret the Bible in any other way on this point. It also goes on to describe interactions between humans and these creatures. Dinosaurs are animals that dominated the terrestrial ecosystem for over 100 million years. Non-avian dinosaurs became extinct million years ago (Mya) at the end of the Cretaceous period. Dinosaurs are known from both fossils and nonfossils including fossilized bones feces trackways ... feathers , impressions of skin, internal organs and "soft tissues." Since the first dinosaur was recognized in the 19th century , their mounted skeletons have become a major attraction at museums around the world. Dinosaurs have become a part of world culture, and have remained consistently popular, especially among children. They have been featured in bestselling books and blockbuster films like Jurassic Park , and new discoveries are regularly covered by the media . Information about Charles H. Sternberg's dinosaur collections from the Alberta badlands that sank with the Canadian Pacific Railway steamship Mount Temple when it was scuttled by a German warship. Includes research efforts and possible plans for recovery.
http://www.ssmounttemple.com/

SITE UPDATED June 16, 2005.
In 1916, Charles H. Sternberg collected dinosaur fossils in the badlands of Alberta, Canada. At the end of the field season the specimens were shipped to the British Museum of Natural History in London, England. The Canadian Pacific Railway steamship Mount Temple , carrying the specimens sank on December 6, in the North Atlantic. This site is dedicated to research, exploration and possible recovery of the Dinosaurs in the Deep.
In the summer of 1916, American fossil collectors Charles H. Sternberg and son Levi worked under contract to the British Museum of Natural History, London, England. In the badlands of Alberta, Canada in what is now Dinosaur Provincial Park, they collected numerous dinosaur and other fossil specimens that were to be shipped to London. Charles Sternberg envisioned public dinosaur exhibits there of a caliber rivaling those in New York and Ottawa. SS Milwaukee successfully transported the first shipment, but the second lot, consisting of 22 wooden crates, was aboard the Canadian Pacific Railway steamship Mount Temple Merchant ships in wartime are vulnerable targets. htmlAdWH('93212820', '728', '90'); Main Christianity Are Dinosaurs Mentioned in the Bible? Behemoth Leviathan Dragons Unicorns ... Giants Behemoth Behemoth in contrast to the leviathan is a giant land animal, not a sea creature. There seems to be a similar animal in a Ugaritic text BH called meaning "the ferocious bullock of El" (Pope 1965, 321; KTU 1.3 III 44). Another text describes an animal as having horns like bulls, humps like buffalo, and the face of Baal (Ibid; KTU 1.12 I 30-33). This beast may be the same as the Sumerian and Akkadian "bull of heaven" who was slain by Gilgamesh and Enkidu in the Gilgamesh Epic (Ibid., 322; ANET, 83-85; Heidel 1946, 53-55, Outline and information on Gilgamesh Epic , see below).
The description in Job 40:21-23 seems to allude to the area around Lake Huleh which was filled with buffalo. His tail is like a cedar branch that can easily bend or sway (Pope think this refers to sexual arousal). This does not mean his tail was as long as or as big as a huge cedar tree for verses 21-23 say, "Under the lotus plants he lies, hidden among the reeds in the marsh. The lotus conceal him in their shadow" (NIV). Reeds and lotus can not hide a huge dinosaur.
Gilgamesh Epic
ku-bur zib-ba-ti-su , meaning "thickness of his tail" (ANET, 505). "It refers to the tassele at the end of the tail in contrast to the thin middle part" (Ibid., note 29). The horns of the bull are plated with lapis two inches thick, weighing thirty pounds, and holding 105 gallons each (Heidel, 55). This was a huge mythical bull which is associated with the constellation Taurus, the bull (Black and Green, 49).

Award winning dinosaur art, including dramatic reconstructions of the extinction of the dinosaurs.

This gallery contains over fifty paintings depicting many of the best-known prehistoric beasts. The illustrations are accompanied by information about each animal including its size, weight, diet, the geologic period during which it lived, and the year in which it was discovered.
The dinosaurs are grouped according to shared characteristics. For example, the "Theropods" gallery includes Tyrannosaurus rex and Allosaurus, while Brachiosaurus and Apatosaurus are in the "Sauropods" gallery. The pterosaurs and ancient mammals like the Woolly Mammoth have their own galleries as well. The few mammals I have illustrated belong to the Eocene and Pleistocene epochs, which is why no other epochs are listed under the "Age of Mammals" heading.
The creatures depicted in these illustrations are also listed in an alphabetical "A-Z Animal Index" which can be used to locate images of specific animals.
