44. Origin Of Dinosaurs And Mammals - Erickson
A gravity reduction in the early Mesozoic caused a faunal transition from small robust synapsid reptiles (therapsids) to large gracile diapsid reptiles (archosaurs), including many families of gigantic dinosaurs.

On the Origin of Dinosaurs and Mammals
William Carnell Erickson
Abstract
The coincidence in time of incipient rifting of Pangea and the origin of dinosaurs during the Carnian age (230-225 Ma) of the Late Triassic suggests a fundamental link between the two. That link may have been the onset of Earth expansion, triggered by the Pangean thermal anomaly and resulting in a 20% reduction in surface gravity. In reduced gravity, animals will have less skeletal mass and thinner bones than equally massive animals adapted to normal gravity; a significant increase in maximum body size will also ensue. These predictions, inferred from allometric scaling principles and supported by biomedical space research and gravity tolerance experiments, are borne out in the fossil record: the Late Triassic witnessed the transition from Paleozoic faunas dominated by relatively small and robust synapsid reptiles (therapsids) to Mesozoic faunas dominated by large and gracile diapsid reptiles (archosaurs), including many families of gigantic dinosaurs. Triassic archosaurs were the first vertebrates capable of sustained powered flight. In reduced gravity, the capacity for sustained powered flight may have evolved directly from the archosaur's bipedal hopping gait.

Dinosaurs
Before the Dinosaurs
The planet earth is VERY old, about 4,600 million years. (thats a lot of birthday candles!!!). There was no life at all on earth for millions of years.
The first living things lived in the sea, they were so tiny that we would not be able to see them.
About 500 million years ago the first fish swam in the sea. There was nothing alive on the land at all.
435 million years ago the first plants started growing on the land.
395 million years ago the first land animals appeared.
225 million years ago dinosaurs appeared.....and 65 million years ago All the dinosaurs died.
Only 2 million years ago the first human appeared. Dinosaurs lived on the earth for 165 million years (we have only been here for 2 million!!!). But no one really knows why the dinosaurs died. Some people think that the dinosaurs died when a giant rock fell to earth from space (a meteorite). They believe that when it hit the earth it made a huge cloud of dust which blocked out the sun. The dinosaurs relied on the sun for warmth and may have died because it was too cold for them. The word 'dinosaur' means 'Terrible Lizard.'

In response to overwhelming (?) paleontological interest, D.I.G . is pleased to present an exhaustive, if not exhausting, list of the official fossil and/or dino of each and every state in the good ol' US of A. (except for the ones that we couldn't find out yet). And, hey, if you are the governor of a state without an official dino, get on the stick, okay? We finally have all 50 states so far! Two states (Washington and Hawaii) don't have any dino fossils at all! Poor Washington. Hawaii at least has coconuts. So without further ado... here it is! Oh, if you can fill in any of the blanks, please let us know!

Each new false religion of the post-Flood period has sought to detract from our Creator and from our responsibilities in this life; evolution's effect is no different and it (macro-evolution) continues to lack any scientific substance.
