Digital art can be purely computer-generated , such as fractals , or taken from another source, such as a scanned photograph , or an image drawn using vector graphics software using a mouse or graphics tablet . The term is usually reserved for art that has been non- trivially modifed by a computing process (such a computer program, microcontroler or any electronic system capable of interpreting an input to create an output); digitized text data and raw audio and video recordings are not usually considered digital art in themselves, but can be part of a larger project. Some photographs from large format, Infrared, and medium format film These pictures really weren't meant to be viewed as such tiny files. As a large format photographer, I've come to rely on fiddly subtle texture and detail to make my pictures. Working with big computer files, I can still do that. But you don't want to download a 150 MB file, do you? My system is calibrated so that what I see on the screen (of the high res file) bears a good relationship to the final print. Your monitor may have a different gamma or color temperature. If these pictures look "wrong" to you, you might want to adjust the gamma on your computer monitor. In case you don't have fancy gamma-correction software, try fiddling with the contrast and brightness knobs on your monitor. It's not a perfect world, but it's the only one we have. These are just the fuzziest impressions of my real pictures. These are not my pictures. This is just your computer screen. I don't consider a picture really finished until I have printed it. I hope you can see a real print sometime. Usually I print these as 16 X 20 " Type C prints on the new Ilford Paper "Ilfocolor Deluxe." This paper renders rich saturated colors and good detail. It looks like Cibachrome, but with a better contrast curve. This fall, if I have enough time and money I hope to make some big Dye Transfer prints of these, maybe some as large as 30" X 40."
