CPA Exam: How To Apply
Congratulations on your decision to become a Certified Public Accountant! The following steps will aid in making your dream a reality… 1. Visit your state Board of Accountancy's web site to determine state-specific requirements. Call them if you need clarification of their rules (links to web pages and phone numbers are below). 2. Submit your application to sit for the exam. Do this early. Government agencies take plenty of time to process applications! 3. Prepare for the exam. Of course we recommend our seminars. Register for the course, read the summaries, attend the seminar, read the summaries agaim, read the dictionary, do the homework, perhaps re-read the summaries. 4. Schedule one or two sections of the exam after you've received your eligibility documents. 5. Take the exam. Wait (what seems like forever!) for your scores. You should apply to the board in the state in which you expect to practice public accounting.

BROWN ET AL. v. BOARD OF EDUCATION OF TOPEKA ET AL.
APPEAL FROM THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE DISTRICT OF KANSAS.
Reargued on the question of relief April 11-14, 1955
Opinion and judgments announced May 31, 1955
MR. CHIEF JUSTICE WARREN delivered the opinion of the Court. These cases were decided on May 17, 1954. The opinions of that date, declaring the fundamental principle that racial discrimination in public education is unconstitutional, are incorporated herein by reference. All provisions of federal, state, or local law requiring or permitting such discrimination must yield to this principle. There remains for consideration the manner in which relief is to be accorded. Because these cases arose under different local conditions and their disposition will involve a variety of local problems, we requested further argument on the question of relief. In view of the nationwide importance of the decision, we invited the Attorney General of the United States and the Attorneys General of all states requiring or permitting racial discrimination in public education to present their views on that question. The parties, the United States, and the States of Florida, North Carolina, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Maryland, and Texas filed briefs and participated in the oral argument.

(all revenue sources) elaware legislators are looking to the acountability plan passed last year to dramatically improve the state's education system by curbing social promotions, rewarding achievement, and increasing responsibility for failing students, teachers, and schools. Gov. Thomas R. Carper, a Democrat, helped push through the Educational Accountability Act of 1998 with the help of the business community and other outside forces. He billed the measure as the culmination of several years' work in implementing standards and assessments. The law "ties those programs together by creating a system in which students, schools, and districts are responsible for fostering excellence and preparing our youth for success in college and the workforce," Carper said last July in signing the bill that the legislature had passed unanimously. The state will begin holding schools accountable for student performance in the 2000-01 school year after a period of intense professional development for teachers. Delaware's accountability law is touted as the result of years of reform work.

US State Government Aid The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is used to apply for most state loan, grant and scholarship programs, in addition to the federal loans and grants. When you submit the FAFSA to the US Department of Education, they forward the information on the form to the state student assistance agency. Each state has a different FAFSA submission deadline. If you submit your FAFSA by March 1, you will be in time for all state deadlines, other than Michigan. If you miss the deadline, you will be ineligible to receive state aid for the entire academic year. Procedures for applying for state prepaid tuition programs and the national guard differ from state to state. The amount of information provided on the state web sites varies from state to states. Some states provide comprehensive information about residency requirements , loan, grant, scholarship and prepaid tuition programs and other state aid programs. Others provide minimal information. We recommend visiting the sites for both your state of residence and for the states of the colleges to which you are applying. A B C D ...
