Seeks A New Executive Director April 28, 2005 POSITION AVAILABLE - Executive Director The Council for the Performing Arts is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization committed to providing culturally valuable entertainment and enrichment to the greater Jefferson County area. Approaching its thirtieth year as a vibrant, community arts organization based in Jefferson, Wisconsin, the Council is looking for a committed, energetic individual as the Executive Director. The successful candidate will oversee all operations and provide a public image for the organization in support of its mission. QUALIFICATIONS:

Kids From Wisconsin Show Moved to Lake Mills
Due to the recent storm damage to the Performing Arts Center in Jefferson, the Kids From Wisconsin performance will be moved to Lake Mills on Saturday, July 9 at 7:30 p.m. The show will take place in the air-conditioned gymnasium at Lakeside Lutheran High School, which is located at 231 Woodland Beach Road in Lake Mills. This performance of Kids From Wisconsin is sponsored by Generac Power Systems, Inc and presented by the Council for the Performing Arts. Eli Wedel and Joe Kottwitz, both of Lake Mills, were selected to be members of Kids From Wisconsin this year. Eli will be performing as a singer/dancer and Joe is a member of the show band. The Council for the Performing Arts is very proud of Eli, Joe and the rest of the Kids From Wisconsin who are showcasing the performing arts all over the state. The Council for the Performing Arts would like to thank the Jefferson Kiwanis for their generous donation for this performance. The Georgetown University Chamber Music Ensembles Program (CME), is a student-run organization within the Program in Performing Arts . The skill level can be quite high, but those interested in just playing and having fun are always welcome.

Bravo! is a dynamic group of early to mid-career professionals who take an active role in enhancing Orange County's cultural scene while furthering their knowledge of, and involvement with, the performing arts. Their financial support of The Center is primarily in the form of membership dues. The focus of Bravo! is to create an environment where young professionals can volunteer, network, socialize, host special events and work towards the common effort of supporting The Center and its many cultural, educational and community programs. The partially tax-deductible membership dues are $300 per year for individuals and $500 for couples residing at the same address.
Sample of events:
Social hours and receptions before selected performances. Past performances have included Broadway shows, "Cabaret" and "Fosse", and special events, such as David Copperfield, and Roy Hargrove at The Center’s famed Jazz Club.

CVPA Galleries and Current Work CVPA's significant contribution to the regional arts scene is evident in its dynamic presence within the southcoast communities, and in the high caliber of exhibitions held in each of its galleries: CVPA Campus Gallery and Gallery One located in the arts building at the Dartmouth campus and the University Art Gallery and Gallery 244, located at the Star Store campus in New Bedford. CVPA Campus Gallery and Gallery One feature frequently changing exhibitions of CVPA student and faculty work curated by college faculty. Gallery 244 is a student run gallery featuring work by graduate students, emerging artists in their own right. The University Art Gallery, directed by Lasse Antonsen, is devoted to showing the work of international, national, and regional artists. Antonsen's exhibitions have attracted national attention for their excellence in scope, vision, and presentation.
