The School of Drama trains talented young people to become professional actors, directors or playwrights of drama. Students are encouraged not only to acquire technical skills, but to develop their creativity.
Professional skills acquired, learnt primarily through formal training in class, are developed in performance. Student performances take place both in workshop and in public, using theatre spaces specially designed to be adaptable to both traditional and innovative work.
The School also aims to provide the students at the Degree level with a far-ranging background, and cultivate an appreciation of the performing arts as a whole, both oriental and occidental.
The School is committed to the development of drama in Hong Kong and to meeting the needs of the local audience. Therefore all its productions are in the local dialect of Cantonese.

The Palace Theatre has been a major force in Westmoreland County's cultural scene for generations. Opened September 2, 1926, as the Manos Theatre, The Palace Theatre today hosts the widest variety of live entertainment in the area in a beautifully renovated 1320-seat facility, located across from the county courthouse at 21 West Otterman Street in downtown Greensburg, PA.
Phase III renovations completed in September 2004 gave us the newly dedicated Megan's Suite, an expanded suite with table seating for guests to enjoy refreshments before the show or during intermission. The most recent renovations also include new rest rooms for men and women on the main floor and mezzanine levels, drinking fountains, and an elevator. These projects are restoring The Palace to its original state of old-world beauty with modern day improvements, making it one of the finest theatres of its size and type in the country.

Note: for six years I maintained this page as an events calendar, featuring events from the Pullman and Moscow communities as well as UI and WSU events. I tried to persuade many offices at WSU to take over the concept, but failed. No one seems to want to manage a calendar which incorporates all the cultural resources of our community. The task of maintaining the calendar has become too burdensome for me to continue; so the best I can do is refer you to the links above (many of which you will find are sadly out of date) and suggest that you look at the arts and entertainment guide in the Thursday Moscow-Pullman Daily News, by far the most complete such guide in the area. Thanks to all of your who have expressed your appreciation for my work over the years. If you hear of a new calendar I should add here, please drop me a line.

    Introduction
In 1993, when I first began to research theatre sites on the internet, it was a difficult and laborious project. Sites were hard to find, search engines were underdeveloped, there were very few theatre people who had taken an interest in, or even knew about the internet. Obviously, things have changed. Now the World Wide Web is easily accessible through a variety of web browsers, making specific knowledge of such utilities as telnet, ftp, and gopher (remember that one?) more or less obsolete.
