The Mission of the Institute of Government and Politics:
The Institute of Government and Politics (IGP) supports the faculty and students of the Department of Political Science in their research, teaching and learning. The IGP serves the faculty in their varied fields of interest and specialization. It seeks to integrate graduate students into the intellectual life of the department and extends the educational experience of the department's undergraduate students beyond the confines of the classroom. IGP gives particular attention to the practical applications of political science. It is therefore charged with developing interdisciplinary relationships between political science and other programs, departments and colleges within the university. IGP reaches out to the larger community, the state and national scene, as well as the international arena to accomplish its mission.
The Institute's current Director is Dr. Gunther M. Hega
