  • Wiki upgrades have obviously been completed. There are some changes that have been made, some other that are going to be made, and some new features of which to be aware.
    • The title override extension tag is now "title-override" rather than "title". If you come across a page that has the old tag, please modify it to the new tag. If you go to your preferences page, you can specify (and verify) your email address. This will allow you to use the "send mail on page change" system, which will send you email if one of the pages on your watch list has changed. It will only tell you about the first change since your last visit, and not spam you with every change. It will not email if you're the one making the changes.

Anyone that had hit this section of the site before knows it was difficult to locate exactly what you wanted, or see what all we had, at a glance.
As we get more features, there will probably be more 'branches' to the directory.

Looking for an Extraordinary Practice Opportunity?
The Indian Health Service (IHS) offers nurses extraordinary opportunities for providing comprehensive care in culturally rich communities . More than 2,500 IHS nurses play a leadership role in clinics, hospitals, and public outreach programs nationwide. They are vital to the health of individuals and entire communities.
Most IHS positions are in rural settings , where there is great demand for generalists as well as for specialists in hospital settings.
The ideal IHS candidate must be able to handle a wide range of medical cases . For example, a morning's patient roster might include an infant with Reactive Airway Disease, an adult diabetic, and a new mother needing basic education in child care.
An IHS nurse may choose to stay for an extended period of time in one location or periodically transfer to other locations to learn about other cultures and natural environments. Questions? Contact Teddra R. Penland at
