The Sand Pond Club is a hunting and fishing club located in the towns of Croghan and Watson in the Western Adirondack Mountains of New York State. Our land encompasses nearly 2200 acres leased from LandVest, inc . Our members and their guests enjoy a variety of year round activities including hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, ATV riding, and just plain camping. The Sand Pond Club has a long and rich history. Our main building was originally a logging camp built prior to World War II and the smaller building was a trappers cabin built by one of our former members. During World War II German Prisoners of War used the camp for wood cutting detail. In 1945 the club was established as a hunting club that has continued to this day.

25 miles of wooded trails with views of Mt. Monadnock. Base lodge with a rental shop, restaurant.
http://www.windblownxc.com/
Comfortable, friendly and unforgettable are words often used to describe Windblown. A family-owned and operated business since 1972, Windblown offers a ski experience that is no longer typical in these days of the mega-ski conglomerates. Here, the pace is slower and the people seem friendlier. Al and Irene Jenks, together with their sons, know how to make you feel welcome. Come ski their 25 miles of wooded trails; pause to enjoy the magnificent view of Mt. Monadnock. After your cheeks are flushed and your muscles a bit sore, head back to the lodge where homemade soup, big sandwiches, and spiced hot cider will be waiting for you. Relax on the comfortable couch by the fire and enjoy a home-baked muffin or cookie right out of the oven. We invite you to come out and experience Windblown Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing Center! Kane Valley Cross Country Ski Trails ...
When winter blows into the British Columbia Interior, the Kane Valley, south of Merritt, becomes a haven for Nordic skiers. With a base elevation of 1160 metres (3800 feet), the timbered valley has a micro-climate that can provide ideal Nordic skiing conditions. The snow is generally dry, seldom more than 1 to 1.5 metres deep, and the air temperature is usually between and -15 degrees Celsius throughout the winter. The trails are located on crown land. However, there is privately-owned land adjacent to and within the trail system. Portions of the Valley have been farmed since the 1890s and selectively logged during the past 30 years. The ski trails follow old logging roads and skid trails through open timber and across natural grassy slopes. Roller packing the Harmon Trail.
