The Division of Archeology
The Division of Archeology was founded in 1949. Its main tasks include an interdisciplinary archaeological and anthropological study of the classical and medieval periods in Croatia. The archaeological explorations focus on the study of sources and material culture during the Romanization and Christianization processes in the Roman province of Pannonia (northern Croatia), which form the basis of our understanding of the Croatian medieval period. Archaeological explorations generally focus on the reconstruction of conditions and forms of life of Croatian populations and the study of their adaptation to changes in ecological and cultural systems. The division's collections, which have been put together over many years of field research, include valuable archaeological finds of neolithic cultures and a systematically organized collection of human osteological materials, with over 1,200 skeletons. The researchers at the Division of Archaeology have developed extensive scientific cooperation with other archaeological and anthropological institutions both at home and abroad.

Republika HRVATSKA HR
CROATIA
an Overview of its History, Culture and Science
Dedicated to the memory of Gordan Lederer Dear reader,
When you meet a new friend or colleague, you are necessarily confronted with his cultural and historical background, peculiarities of his own, that are sometimes difficult to conceive. Having this in mind, we believe you will understand our wish to give you a better insight into what could be called a Croatian cultural heritage, at least in a rapid and sketchy way. The connections with other European cultures are, as you will see, deep and longstanding. We shall also try to intersperse this hypertext with some interesting facts by which Croatia is recognizable. In short, we start by describing an extremely complex and interesting entity, unique in Europe - the Republic of Croatia, or in Croatian - Republika Hrvatska HR

Croatia Rebuilding Civil war broke out in the republic as ethnic Serbs, backed by the federal Yugoslav People's Army (JNA), battled with the Croats for territory. As Croatia rebuilds her country, the tourists are returning to the Adriatic Coast again. And what a beautiful coast it is too. The coast does get very crowded in high season and the road is windy. To enjoy the coastline at it's best, try and plan a drive down the rocky, Croatian coast before the peak season of July and August.

Croatian Cultural Week - Western Australia
Organised on behalf of Croatian Community of WA by Croatian World Congress.
It is held in conjunction with City of Fremantle Festival in November of each year.
Aim - to present Croatian culture to a wider, Australian, audience. To bring together cultural heritage of Croatia and the Croatian Communities within Australia. To foster and promote local talent, especially among the younger generations.
History - Croatian Cultural Week started in 1998 as a part of a wider project in collaboration with the General Consulate of the Republic of Croatia in Perth.
The following year it was held in conjunction with the Korcula Cultural exhibition which was organised separately to celebrate Fremantle/Korcula signing of Charter of Friendship.
Last year, as in previous years, it was also as an extension of the Fiesta Kultura, a yearly festival of ethnic groups organised by Kulcha, an organisation of Multicultural Arts in WA. This clearly indicates the inclusiveness of the Croatian Cultural week.

CROATIA
Title: The Croatia Page URL: http://www.croatia.net/index.html Description This site contains information about Croatian history, geographical information about the layout and terrain of the country, a cultural overview of Croatia including information about the Croatian language, music, sports, art and Croatian cuisine, and links to Croatian news sources. This site was created in order to provide information about Croatia to the “Croatian-American Community” and to those who wish to learn about Croatia, its history and the people who live there. The website is organized into eight main sources of interest which provide links to things such as history, tourism news, resources, etc. Though this site does not say specifically what the creator does, he is listed as Zeljko Skropanic, who I assume to be either a Croatian immigrant or someone born here of Croatian-born parents. This site does not seem to have any bias about Croatia; it seems to be more of a site for information for those looking to travel to the country. It does, however, seem to portray Croatia as a nation that has made many contributions, both scientifically and culturally, that have been overlooked by the rest of the world.
