Criminology Grad Programmes
U of O you can do either your MA or MCA (applied; includes a fieldplacement) in Criminology in the Department of Criminology . TA-ships are available to (almost) all first year MA students. And Ottawa is pretty cute :-) U of T they offer both MA and PhD programmes at their Centre of Criminology - but TA-ships are hard to come by, at least for MAs. Toronto is expensive, of course, but not half as bad as people say it is :-) Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, B.C, not too far away from Vancouver . Their School of Criminology also offers both MA and PhD degrees; TA-ships are available to most students. If you want to do the whole thing in Montreal in French, the Ecole de Criminologie of the Universite de Montreal also offers grad programmes.
Also ...
Acadia Divinity College in Wolfville , Nova Scotia offers a grad level Diploma in Prison Ministry , which consists of electives offered as part of their Master of Divinity Programme. As of fall 1997, the diploma will also be offered by distance education.

66. B.A. Honours Program
The School of criminology has a structured Bachelor of Arts, Honors in criminologyprogram for its outstanding undergraduate students.
http://www.sfu.ca/criminology/hons.htm
Undergraduate Director: Dr. Gail Anderson The School of Criminology has a structured Bachelor of Arts, Honors in Criminology Students normally enter the program upon completion of a minimum of 110 credit hours, but students may enter with less and take one additional course during the first semester of the program with the permission of the Director of Undergraduate Programs. Students are required to complete a minimum of 132 credit hours with grade point averages in accordance with General and Faculty of Arts Graduation requirements (please refer to the Simon Fraser University CALENDAR), including the requirement of a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of not less than 3.00 (3.50 for "First Class Honors"). Graduate School first . This holds true even for those with high GPAs who appear to be already eligible for admission to graduate school and who feel that their chances of admission are high. The Honors Program will improve your chances even more and the experience will be invaluable preparation; remember, the program involves only one extra semester of study, not a whole year (as rumour has it!).

Employment of police and detectives is expected to increase faster than the average for all occupations through 2010. A more security-conscious society and concern about drug-related crimes should contribute to the increasing demand for police services. At the local and State levels, growth is likely to continue as long as crime remains a serious concern. However, employment growth at the Federal level will be tempered by continuing budgetary constraints faced by law enforcement agencies. CRIMINAL JUSTICE DEGREE
