CFEJ is a loosely-knit organization of people, from all walks of life and political persuasions, who want changes made in the way our criminal justice system deals with the problems of crime and prison overcrowding.
AND who are willing to take an active role in accomplishing these changes... Our commonalties are: 1) We are "FED UP" with having a criminal justice system which wastes our tax dollars and does little to reduce crime. 2) We are working towards SOLUTIONS, instead of just complaining about the problems. 3) We are working toward the implimentation of an alternative system which would result in the criminals being afraid, instead of the citizens. 4) We believe the proposed changes will make our streets safer; but, will NOT cost a lot of tax dollars

Welcome to the Criminal Justice Planning Agency Portal The Statistical Analysis Centers (SACs) are units or agencies at the state government level which use operational, management, and research information from all components of the criminal justice system to conduct objective analyses of statewide and systemwide policy issues. There are currently SACs in 52 states and territories. The SACs vary in their placement within the state government structures. Some are within a criminal justice or general state planning or coordinating agency; some are part of a governor's advisory staff; and others are located in a line agency such as the state police, attorney general's office, or department of corrections. There are several housed in universities. This diversity is also reflected in the SACs' roles and activities in their respective states. Some of the SACs concentrate on collecting and distributing specific criminal justice-related data sets, others are involved in active research on policy issues, and some have been instrumental in the design and implementation of various policies and automated information systems. Most of the SACs obtain their base financial support from the U.S. Justice Department's Bureau of Justice Statistics. Many also receive funding from other federal and state budget appropriations.

Responding to Victims with Disabilities

Abstract: Until recently, the victimization of individuals with disabilities has not been a major focus of the victim-serving community. This chapter discusses the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act and its requirements for the criminal justice system, as well as for agencies that receive federal funding, in meeting the needs of crime victims with disabilities. Programs that have been identified as providing outreach and services to victims with disabilities are cited. In addition, critical services for victims with disabilities are discussed, with a particular emphasis on what service providers and the criminal justice system can do to expand outreach and increase sensitivity to victims with disabilities.
Learning Objectives : Upon completion of this chapter, students will understand the following concepts:
