Berger Quits Kerry Post

Sandy Berger says he reviewed thousands of pages of documents, "inadvertently took a few," and returned all but a few which he "apparently had discarded." (Photo: AP)
"When I was informed by the Archives that there were documents missing, I immediately returned everything I had except for a few documents that I apparently had accidentally discarded."

The Sept. 11 commission's report blamed no individuals and proposed a major overhaul of the U.S. intelligence community. It found there was no "collaborative operational relationship" between Iraq and al Qaeda. Click below to read:

Audit of Iraq Spending Spurs Criminal Probe
By Griff Witte Washington Post Staff Writer Thursday, May 5, 2005; Page A22 Investigators have opened a criminal inquiry into millions of dollars missing in Iraq after auditors uncovered indications of fraud in nearly $100 million in reconstruction spending that could not be properly accounted for. The money had been intended for rebuilding projects in south-central Iraq. But auditors with the Office of the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction found that of $119.9 million allocated, $7.2 million could not be accounted for at all, and $89.4 million in reported spending could not be backed up with sufficient documentation, according to a report released yesterday.
Rep. Henry Waxman called it "mind-boggling" that millions of dollars are unaccounted for.

    Forensic Science Glossary
by John C. Brenner (August 1999)
In forensics there is often a difficulty conveying critical scientific terms to non-scientists such as investigators, attorneys, juries, and even court reporters. This glossary of words and their meanings covers important areas of forensic science, including chemistry and toxicology pertinent to forensics, ballistics, and DNA analysis. 950 words have been compiled thus far but the author has agreed to have the manuscript reviewed for gaps and will expand where necessary.
Forensic Science: An Introduction To Criminalistics
by Peter Deforest, Peter R. De Forest, Robert E. Gaensslen (Contributor) (April 1, 1983)
This book is a basic textbook for use in college and university forensic science courses at the introductory level in which little or no prior knowledge of science has been assumed. Most of the book is devoted to a careful exploration of the importance of physical evidence and this new edition includes a chapter on DNA.
