Abstract
The success of crime prevention programs is dependent on a number of factors, not least of which is the commitment of the various agencies and people involved, and the careful coordination of their efforts. The case studies included in The promise of crime prevention have all had some measure of success, and provide innovative examples of crime prevention in practice. They demonstrate that criminological theories can translate into effective crime prevention programs.
